Hi> sorry for being not in the discussion for a long time. Am scouting for him as well as this guy has moved out from the place where he was operating from earlier. Am still tracking. The guy from whom I got the job done does a fsirly good job except that he takes his own time. I realised with my mechanic is to get the spares to him rather than waiting for him to get the same.

              Hi,
This is a great thread for KB 100 RTZ owners. I congratulate all the owners who have strived to restore their bikes. Appreciate their efforts and time spent on their machines. I too am trying to rebuild my KB 100 RTZ (89). In this regard i would appreciate the address of a good mechanic in bangalore who has a passion for KB 100. Thanks in advance.

                Hi SDRam

                My story -
I looked hard for a KB mechanic, couldn't find any. Probably because KBs were never too popular in Bangalore.
Plus the atrocious quotes to repair and for spares (saying very difficult to source them).

So, ended up doing everything myself, and it came out beautiful.

The KB is a rather simple bike (all single cyl 2 strokes are), and you'll easily be able to restore him (for me KB is a guy).
And, if you do indeed do the restoration yourself, I guarantee that you'll end up much more knowledgeable and with a lot more love for your KB than now.

                Good luck.

                  Hi Everyone
This is Seshadri and I have a KB 100 rtz 1990 model. This was my dad's first bike and the one I learnt to ride on and is very very close to my heart..
The bike's in a superb condition with immaculate internals but the only glitch being the documents, which are lost and since its a UP registered bike I'm stuck wit not being able to use the bike in Bangalore....
So I have been forced to look for a donor bike now...
Can all you guys help me out
                  Thanks in advance.....

I know KB-100 came with a Mikuni carb, was there a Pacco also available? i am trying to source a new carb for my KB-100. Which now leaks petrol and oil very badly.

the later versions came with micarb carbs , not sure about pacco though, you can try aditya automobiles coimbatore , they might have the needle valve assly with them, that should solve your leak

Safexbikes.com posted on their website stating they have Pacco carbs for KB100 with the model number and all. The price was 1550 including shipping.

I paid and waited for 15 days. guess what i receieved.

I had purchased a carb from a local marked, which was a used one for 300 Rs, which was a high price. And i am gettin another used mikuni for 1550.

Off late, I have observed that the " kitna dethi hai" is of concern. To a litre, it is just returning me on an average 40 kms to a litre, which I feel is definitely less. Ofcourse, this is in BLR trafffic. My usage is everyday in the last 8 monthss and have rode about 5400 kms in the last 8 months.
Looks like there could be a leak somewhere at the carb or in the fuel tubes.

A month ago the clutch assembly was replaced, costed me about 900 including labour. On a routine days work, my bike refuse to shift to any other gear, i was in the 3rd at time. somehow, managed to get to base to check for shifter gear, but then my mechanic found that the clutch had indeed worn out. There was a kind of shudder while releasing the lever. Having replaced the clucth assemnly, the bike is now very responsive. It has been 2 years exactly after the bike was given a makeover. Loving every moment of it.
