@argee;thanks for the help man...but im in kerala now ,i had tried the local as well as the authorised dealer in doth kollam and trivandrum but could not get it ,the problem is bajaj stopped making spares for kb years ago and the parts that we received from the authorised dealer is the proof of that ,so getting it from the a.s.s is impossible...however i managed to locate a place which has a pair of the inner wires of the cable in stock will be getting that today.....

I know you're in KL & in TVM; I've been to Karamana last weekend & I'll be there this Friday & hence the offer.

Ok fine with me if you're able to source one; I'd a similar experience when I tried finding a spare speedo meter cable for BYK; The Bajaj A.S.S took nearly 3 weeks, but to my surprise, they got from the Bajaj. I think Bajaj actually sells, its these stupid dealers who don't want to order. It all depends upon the rapport you build with them, I guess.

ok argee if u can find its then ok i will collect it from u in tvm..i got the inner wire from a shop here ..its about 10years old (made in 2001)...

the easiest way to get the parts is to find somebody who knows somebody at the dealership who can place the order for you..luckily in our case our mechanic knew the guy in charge of the spare parts section at the dealership thats how i manged to sourse the cylinder kit btw it costs 1613rs a bargain considering rx ones cost rs7000 and it seems that the company is not supplying these anymore

ps; argee are u from tvm

See I told you; only rapport works. Yelling, demaning right doesn't work in this country.

            Nope; from Chennai.

^^ I hate to hear such things; contigency, planB, C, D should've all put in place. This is why I like to take lot of time to plan & make the run in one go!!!
@KB100 - Any luck until now?

@argee;went to the dealership today ,there was plenty of size 1 and 2 rings there but none in standard size, might be able to source one by tomorrow, the problem is the rings are chromium plated and hence hard to find (those of the shogun are harder to find as they are made of steel), asked them about the rpm cable again the reply was that bal no longer makes them and most owners hardly use the tacho so nobody bothers in replacing these if it goes bust hance it is impossible to get from the factory

ps;do you need workshop manual for rx100 or rxg ...seemed like you wanted to know everything about the rx series

Those are morons. I hate those people with their steeds without the speedo or tacho working. Well, I've been busy today & expect nothing less tomorrow. So sorry man, I wouldn't be able to visit a Bajaj A.S.S until this Saturday. So, if I get one, we'll work out how to courier it to you or send it through someone here.

Well don't jump to conclusions; its just that everyone wants to see a thread like start-process-end result. May be everyone keeps reading, but will post at an appropriate time (unlike me )

Keep up the spirit; I'll pay a special attention for 2 reasons
                        1. That was my first love. The cheetah transforming into KB100 is something that I can never forget this lifetime.
                        2. A very close friend of mine had a KB100 & hence the strong affinity towards the bike grew even stronger.

But for practical reasons, I prefer RX.

Sire!! Pls don't lose heart. I am too watching!! If you had read my KB threads, you would have noticed that the bike was my uncle's. Well he's at coimbatore and said he still has the manual. So, I'll try to grab it at the latest. Well for the bearings, my mech said they use either USHA or MAHLE. He specifically said MAHLE is the better one as it would give better mileage.

Here in madurai we have shops in one particular area which sells all old parts. My mech said we can source an original rpm cable with little roaming around that area. It would cost only around 100bucks. I asked my mech how reliable it would be. He said it would run well as they will probably also have the originals along with the dups. It is upto us to find the difference. Will try to set out today and find it out. Sry I couldn't help in between. Its HOTTTTT here! So couldn't go out....

My mech also said we cannot use or even modify some other cable since KB has the longest rpm cable. And wanted ask you.....When I had been to Kerala recently I could see a handful of KB's around the Marthandam area and so on. I guess you can source some parts there itself because since these many KB's are moving around....it means someone must be supplying parts still....right??

I surely won't let my hands off this thread. I've been checking it everyday and as aargee said I've just got some details and I am posting it today....don't worry probably the next rebuild would be mine....only problem is my dad thinks I am still young to do a rebuild. It will take time....but definitely I will do it....!!

                            Cheers

Thank you for the advice sir. Atleast I need to give her a repaint and need to chrome some parts. Paint has scraped off in some parts. And what about the seat? I recently changed mine to a flat one which is comfy for me right now. And did you get the fuel guage too repaired? Yes, my mech reffered to the bearings in the piston block.

And yes you are so right about KBs running perfectly with damaged parts.
Mine ran for around 600kms without the neccesary oils and grease. In fact I managed 95kmph once with all problems(which I never knew then).

Glad that your piston rings have arrived. And the next time you post pics of your bike we want to see the owner's too.
