      I'm watching this thread since I have fond memories about KB100. It was huge and heavy.Though I do not own one. It was my cousin's who usually comes to my house during 1991. I used to take the keys and turn on the ignition and play around the indicator to watch the flashers glow orange and neutral green. I was just 14 when I had chance to look at some colorful speedo console with various meters.

      Those days we had only Chetak (dad's) so this KB100 used to be like wow long wheel base with two speedo meter (RPM. Speedo) and always wondered why are two.

      Sorry for this story, I could not resist after following this thread for sometime.

        K...how about bro!! I think that'll do. B'coz I'm just 18.

        You were asking how many kms I have done right bro? 2187!!LOL!!!!This done in a span of two years. That shows how much I am allowed outing!! But yes things are changing and will change to a great extent since I am moving to college now. This is my personal kms. Before me my bike was used by my uncle for 16yrs. Guess what?? That means my gf is a month older than me!LOL!!

        And yes I know that the problem exists with float assembly. But my mech says" why do you need it thambi, you know how much you fill na"!!

        And BTW the piston block was replaced before some years. I guess I have mentioned the whole thing in the RTZ thread. Pls check it bro. Apart from this I ahve also replaced some many tits and bits. I guess that's why my bike is fast even now. And the oil comes from the tank. I fixed the oil pump last year. I could observe less smoke and slight increase in mileage after fixing pump. And do you face problems from the gearbox? Mine has small problems sometimes(some whining noise and goes off after sometime, occurs once in a while). Also the shifting is not as smooth as other bikes....

        @SriramEfunds
        Ya!! It happens at times....sweet memories burst out at situations....

          @SriramEfunds;i know what u mean man , almost everybody i had in contact for restoring the bike ,from the spareparts dealer to the guy who stuck the stickers on the bike had nothing but fond memories of the bike...yes its a big heavy bike, i remember my uncle saying that riding the cd100 after riding the kb100 feels like ridig a cloud...... the damn thing goes all over the place ,the weight and long wheelbase gave it unmached stability and handling in those days,between u and me, the first pulsar also had the same wheelbase

          @harish:dont worry about the shift quality, it will be a bit notchy kwackers are like that besides kb has the best shift action and quality of all bikes made by bajaj as for the whine i am not sure and ya bro will do

              Went to the workshop today ,the bike is 70%complete ,might get it by today evening,had to run around getting parts for her again ,im thinking of getting a brand new std size piston for her as I had seen somebody at the spare parts dealer buying a goetze .50 piston for a shaolin,
              While at the workshop our mechanics arse-i-stand tried to bug me ,the one before him was a nice guy, why are all the assistants so or does it happen only here

                  @kb100: I am also one of the regular followers of this thread. Feels bad to have not posted one so far.

                  I haven't ridden a KB yet. Though I have heard from my mechanic how refined & quiet the KBs used to be.

                  Best of Luck for your success.

                  Refuse to give up bro !!

                                took her out for a short ride with my uncle as pillion she is spluttering badly, i think she is running extremely lean as there is a n open port on the crankcase cover through air is entering the carb and it needs to be plugged ,she sounds a bit different now ,battery, horn,etc are not connected as the battery seems to be shot, she is not pulling as hard as before and i believe the culprit is the same,im now waiting for the piston rigs to arrive to change to the new block

                                jd666,argee,sreeramefunds .....thanks guys
