I remember seeing a video a few days ago with a pulsar 220 crossing the grief struck Nepal. The rider kept yelling 'oh my God' inside his helmet and we could all feel the pain. Was it you ?

18 APRIL POKHARA LOCAL SIGHTSEEING 35 KM

By 7 am we were ready after the morning rituals, the plan was to visit the local places in Pokhara and get the permit for Mustang.Started the day with rented bicycles to visit the Phewa lake.Phewa Lake, Phewa Tal or Fewa Lake is a freshwater lake in Nepal located in the south of the Pokhara Valley that includes Pokhara city.Phewa is a beautiful lake surrounded with nature. If you're looking to find paradise on Earth, this is the place. The are area around the lake is very much famous for its nightlife with pubs and bars.Due to its proximity to the Annapurna mountain range, the city is also a base for trekkers undertaking the Annapurna Circuit through the ACAP region of the Annapurna ranges in the Himalayas.

          Mesmerising green beauty

          Fishing in the lake

          Colours of Nepal

          Cycling at Pokhara

          lemon tea to refresh ourselves

After a short visit to the lake, we straight went to Nepal tourism office for the permits. It costed us 800 INR / Bike for both TIMS and ANNAPURNA CONSERVATION CARD.Lots of time consumed in the process, and finally everything was completed by the 12 pm.Now it was time to visit the local places and we chose Davis Falls first.

Davis Falls (Nepali: पाताले छाँगो) is a waterfall located at Pokhara in Kaski District, Nepal.

The water forms an underground tunnel after reaching the bottom. This tunnel is approximately 500 feet (150 m) and runs 100 feet below ground level. On 31 July 1961, a Swiss couple Davi went swimming but the woman drowned in a pit because of the overflow. Her body was recovered 3 days later in river Phusre. Her father wished to name it "Davi's falls" after her. Its Nepali name is Patale Chango, which means "underworld waterfall".

After exiting the tunnel, the water passes through a cave called Gupteshwor Mahadev or "cave beneath the ground". The Phewa Lake damn is the water source.

Some photographs which I took in the market while going towards Davis falls

          Here's the Devis falls

A visit to Davis fall, and we straight went to see the Gupteshwor Mahadev cave which was located just in front of Davis falls. What makes this cave visited by many tourists is this cave touted as the longest cave in Nepal.Gupteshwor Mahadev cave has religious importance for Hindu and also consider as an important tourist place in Pokhara. Many people on the month of shrawn and in Shivaratri visit this cave to worship lord Shiva.
When you’re getting going deep down the cave, you will discover the water from the Devi’s fall. The scenery is astounding. You will also find a huge and beautiful rock and all the structure there.

Saw this offroader at mechanic shop

          Gateway of cave

We had to go deep down and that was the way

Scary it was getting down on slippery stairs

I think these were wishing stones

The way from where we came

          Rocks were wet and slippery

          Lovely shot taken by Nit

Some ghosts were moving around us too he he

And here's the Shot from where the Davis fall's was was entering in the cave

It was already 4 pm and we settled for the lunch at a nearby Dhaba.Nit was looking for a mechanic to do some repair work in his bull.Half an hour wasted for minor work and post that we went up to the Ananada hill to capture some images of Shanti Stupa.Pokhara Shanti Stupa is a Buddhist pagoda-style monument. It provides a panoramic view of the Annapurna range, Pokhara city and the Fewa Lake.

A beautiful piece of art Peace of Pagoda

A lady monk chanting the mantras

Colours were amazing when sun was settling down

What a wonderful evening it was when the sun settled down below the horizon and we sipped the cup of tea watching thousands of stars came alive slowly glittering the city.

Day came to an end with the beautiful night view from hill top.

19 APRIL POKHARA TO TATOPANI 110 KM

As usual we started late from Pokhara after having breakfast at nearby Small restaurant. After filling the petrol at Pokhara, we were cruising on wonderfully tarred roads. We stopped just before Beni for a short maggie break at 12 pm .Journey up to here was quite fast paced as the road conditions were superb. We filled up the tank again at the Beni petrol pump, the only petrol pump in our entire Mustang journey.
Just after the Beni the real adventure started in the form of a pure offroad track which I think is for the dirt bikes only.Slippery slush made it lot more difficult to ride on, Suddenly don't know what happened my rear tyre slipped in the slush and I got a first fall of the trip.Boy o boy me and my bike almost took a bath in slippery mud.No damage was done except some pain in the knee.I
quicklyhonked many times to gain the attention of Nit and Ali who were ahead of me.They came quickly for the help to lift the bike which I was unable to do alone.Took some breather and moved ahead for the rest of the journey. The lower part of the valley is called Kali Gandaki which was warm and green.By the 4.30 we crossed Ghasaan other tube with cold water coming to the pool.

Here we took a long break of an hour before we moved ahead to find a suitable room at Tatopani village. And comes another adventure when we went into the village on a narrow steep trail.
Nit got a bad fall while on a steep narrow track made for the bikes. The bullet was heavily loaded and he didn't start well with pace to climb that section. Finally, locals helped us to push the Bullet. We enquired for the room in the village, but none of the room was big enough to accommodate three of us and our luggage. We came out from the village and booked a room at Annapurna Hotel nearby the main road on the second floor with sufficient amount of parking space for our bikes. The day ended with a short walk inside the village.
                          Our hotel at Pokhara

While I was riding Saw a local kid roadside selling something, took a u-turn to see what he was selling.Didn't knew the name of fruit but believe me, the taste was just super awesome. So you can guess the name of the fruit.Gave 50 Rs and I moved ahead after finishing it.

                          Super highway

A macro shot took nearby that place

                          Dhaulagiri gate enroute

View along the river was simply fantastic

Sometimes it was very steep to climb

Some locals going to their village

Watching these kids running on the hanging bridge was fun too

                          A small village en route

                          Some vistas around

                          Mudded bike

                          Here comes Nit

                          Some time spent at Tatopani

                          Tatopani hot springs

                          Hotel Annapurna

                          last image from the village

Don't miss the next update with some beautiful pics and adventure at it's best.
