A very good and safe biker not only because he can pop up either of the wheels, scrape his knees on a corner or go fast and make it look stylish but because he very well knows his limits and capabilities and has the patience to learn about others and ride safe ! :)

hahaha... yeah, i was just kidding bro

BTW, you and Biru bhai are two of the people due to whome I got a strong urge to start touring on bike... and, well from God's grace I managed to convince my parents about it ... it was so tough though somehow I managed and I'm happy about that

So, finally I'm all set to leave for Mussoorie, Dhanaulti... its my first APPROVED biking trip (yeah, the one mentioned in my signature was done without telling this to my parents but now the know about that one too ). Just wanted to say Thanks to you, Biru bhai, Sherry_unicornlover etc. (much more but don't remember the names right now)...

Ride hard, Ride safe and keep inspiring us by posting your nice logs

Thanks a lot for those kind words !
and it feels good to hear something like this from someone who is getting inspired by us.
Although , I also fall in a newbie category when it comes to touring on two wheels ... i get my inspiration from biru bhaiya offcourse and many other on the forum who are riding madly all over the country
The main thing which you need to take care off is your bike periodic maintainence and your safety ... you SHOULD use all the riding gears ( A good quality helmet , riding gloves , riding Jacket , knee guards and boots) while riding.
and maintain your bike so that it doesnt pose any problems while touring ....
Rest , just get the tank filled upto the brim and twist the throttle !

All the best for your upcoming ride Garry ! Ride Safe bro.

                    Cheers,

Yeah, I love my bike so much and for the same I take care of it as much as I can. Regarding the riding gears, yes we carry all ISI marked helmets... but about rest of the gears, actually its the starting of our touring and u know, its very hard to convince parents for this... moreover, the pillions with us don't have their own bikes so, for them, its almost impossible to ask their parents about the buying riding gears... ... So, this time we will be riding with helmets and leather gloves only. Most probably I will be able to arrange nice pair of riding gloves for myself from a friend. But, fron the next trip, we will try our best to ride with atleast knee guards, gloves and helmets.

                      Thanks for your wishes bro

                        • DAY 7
                          Agra - Gwalior - Jhansi - Orchha

Finally the day has come when i will get to see the One of the Seven Wonders of the World..Very much excited,I reached at the one of the entry gate of Taj Mahal at 07:00 AM.Taj Mahal is open for tourists from 06 am to 07:00 Pm and yeah Its closed on Friday .

Bought ticket for 20 Rs and Taj Mahal was all mine .It was Saturday and the place was expected to be crowded,so it was.
Thorough checking is done at the entry gates,You are not allowed to take any kind of eatables or drinakble'ss inside the Taj Mahal campus.Encountered one incident while cheking-in.There was one lady from Chennai who didn't knew Hindi, guards didn't allowed her inside with the Indian National Entry ticket. ..They asked her to buy the foreign national ticket as she failed to show any National ID as well.Fair Enough :P

Passing thru the lawn i finally crossed the main entrance gate and there it was,the first view of Taj Mahal..First view of an immeasurable beauty. Its magnificence is truly beyond the scope of words.

Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan got this monument constructed in the memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, with whom he fell in love at the first sight.
Due to the bad light, could not get any good shot

Standing majestically on the banks of River Yamuna, the Taj Mahal is synonymous with love and romance. The name "Taj Mahal" was derived from the name of Shah Jahan wife Mumtaz Mahal and means "Crown Palace". The purity of the white marble, the exquisite ornamentation, precious gemstones used and its picturesque location, all make Taj Mahal travel gain a place amongst the most popular ones. However, unless and until, one knows the love story behind the Tajmahal of India, it will come up as just a beautiful building. But, the love behind this outstanding monument is what has given a life to this monument.

Clock ticked 10,time flies by and it was time to move ahead towards Gwalior. Now my return journey has started from Gwalior i plan to visit Khajuraho,Panna Natioanl park, then via Nagpur head back to Mumbai.
Went back to akbar hotel, packed my stuff and started for gwalior.

                          TO BE CONTD..

                          Cheers

                          • Day 7
                            Agra - Gwalior - Jhansi - Orchha

Gwalior was next.Smooth-Beautiful 4 lane takes me to the historical city.Mighty Gwalior fort is visible from quite a distance.Reached Gwalior Fort passing thru the busy lanes of the Gwalior City.

Entrance of the fort and the road which takes you at the top..

At the entrance you will see some Jain Idols cut out very finely from the rocks.

One of the most invincible forts in India. It is built on a hill of sandstone and towers 100 meters from the plain. The outer wall of the fort is almost 2 miles in length and the width varies from one km's to 200 meters. The walls of the fort gives way onto the steep slopes.

The main monuments which are in the premises of this fort are :- Man Mandir, Teli-Ka-Mandir, Sas Bhau Temple, Badal Mahal, Alamgiri gate, Ganesa gate, Chaturbhuj gate, Rock-cut Jain collosi, Urwai gate, etc.

Gwalior Fort was described as 'the pearl in the necklace of the castles of Hind' by the Mughal Emperor Babur, the Gwalior Fort was mightier than any other fort in the medieval ages.No wonder every powerful ruler dreamt of possessing it.

It has witnessed varying fortunes of the Guptas, Hunas, the Pratiharas, the Kachhwahas, the Tomars, the Pathans, the Mughals, the English and the Marathas who have left their landmarks in the various monuments which are still preserved. One cannot help being impressed with the perfect blend of the Hindu and Muslim architecture that characterizes the fort and finds its fullest expression in this brilliant monument.

Though the fort has an incredible history related to it with marvelous architecture to preserve. Half of the fort campus is in pathetic condition, very poorly maintained.

Next was the Schindhia palace,i visited Gwalior when I was a kid. And the beauty of the schindia palace was still fresh in my memory. Now was the time to revive those childhood memories again

                            Cheers

Schindia Palace which is also known as Jai Vilas Palace was built in 1809.

Best feature about this palace is, it has 35 rooms in very well maintained condition. These rooms now has been converted into museum which contains several belongings Of the Royal family.

Various rooms of the palace are nicely decorated in its own way with different colors and exquisite furniture. There is weapon rooms displaying weapons ranging from Swords to Gun which used by the kings and his army.

                              Pose Maarne kaa

Another attractions of this palace are the two gigantic dining rooms. One is the traditional one where people sit on the floor and have food. Another one is the Western Style where food is served on the table in a mini silver train

The train runs on the table on the miniature rails and serves food and drinks placed in the mini wagons.

Most fascinating place is the Darbar Hall. Fine Persian carpets, Beautiful-glittering paintings, heavy draperies and tapesteries, antique furnitures from various countries and chandeliers hanging on the roof. It is said that before they were hung,

After Ten Elephants tested the strength of the roof.

Ah !!..It was all coming back. I was so happy to visit this place again.
After completing my visit to Schindia Palace I continued my journey towards Orchha which was another 120 Kms from there. With some non stop stretches I made it to Orchha in the evening. A Small enchanting village situated on the banks of Betwa river.

One fine evening in such a peaceful and enchanting place. This was one of the best evening of my life

                              Cheers
