    - Jispa to leh should be doable if weather holds up. Otherwise, you might have to drop anchor at a high altitude area so keep some diamox or its alternative(if you are allergic) based on doc orders.
    - Permit rules seem to have been relaxed this year. Keep searching on bcmtouring threads to get the latest info.
    - The extra day in manali is pointless if you are living in NCR(Its pretty close-isn't at much height to help in acclimatization). Better to give that day to ladakh/chandertal. If your bike is fine, it will do the whole trip with max an oil topup and some regular chain cleaning.
    - Day 7 is going to be a stretch so do start early.
    - Rest of the itinerary looks fine.
    - For the other info you have asked.. well its been answered multiple times on this thread and on the 2013 leh planner thread. I would suggest that you religiously go through the ultimate ladakh guide on team-bhp. You will get all the answers there - including distances/accomodation/fuel availability/permits.

Edit: Just saw that you are starting 1st of june. Keep your plan dynamic then. Sometimes, the baralach la gets snowed out. So based on updates on the leh road status thread on bcmt, be flexible to take the srinagar route :-)

    Hi Savneet
I am afraid I won't be interested in taking a pillion neither would anyone else planning to go along with me. With help of this and some other forums, right now it's 6 of us planning to go together on 14th June early morning from Delhi, each on his own bike. 2 guys from Chennai, two from Gurgaon and two from Ghaziabad(including me), a seventh guy from Chennai is yet tentative. You can hire a bike on 13th June in Delhi and can then join in on 14th early morning.
    Please pm me your number.

Chronicles Of A Lone Biker: The Northern Chapter

    Hey!,

Well its been a while since I've posted here as professional and personal responsibilities kept me occupied big time. I recently traded off my RE 2011 C5 for a Pulsar 200 NS due to misc. reasons and now I'm planning the Ladakh ride starting 1st June this year. I have made a "blue print" of the itinerary and need advise from all the experienced and expats over the same. For the short bit, I would have max 14 days on disposal (+1 buffer day) from Delhi-Leh-Delhi trip. The plan is as follows:

    Day 1: Delhi-Manali/Vashisht

Day 2: Manali and around. Servicing the bike and preparing for the big advnture

    Day 3: Manali-Jispa

    Day 4: Jispa-Leh

Day 5: Leh and around, bike check up and permits

Day 6: Leh-Turtuk (night stay at Turtuk)

Day 7: Turtuk-Pangong-Spangmik (via Nubra-Khalsar-Agham-WariLa-Shakti-Changla-Taqngtse); night stay at Spangmik

Day 8: Spangmik-Chushul-Mahe-Tso Moriri (Night stay at Tso Moriri)

    Day 9: Tso Moriri-Tso Kisgar-Sumdo-Tso Kar-Debring-Upshi-Leh

Day 10: Rest day at Leh

    Day 11: Leh-Hanu-Dah-Kargil

    Day 12: Kargil-Srinagar

    Day 13: Srinagar and around

    Day 14: Srinagar-Jammu

    Day 15: Jammu-Delhi

I hope the plan is not over ambitious either for the rider or the bike. If yes, suggestions, comments, rebukes and abuses are more than welcome

Info on the accommodation part is needed in the far off areas of Turtuk, Tso Moriri and Spangmik.

Also, if someone can shed some light over the road condition and availability of fuel in the above areas.

Permits: If someone can jot down as to what all places need to be mentioned while getting the permits, it would be a great help.

Day 3&4 are a bit of a concern for me as the the road might get blocked. Will I be better off to split Manali-Leh into 3 days?

    Waiting for comments and suggestions!

That's really good. Maybe mamu's knowledge was ancient

They also said that till few years back, the road was not open to general public for our own safety (and they didn't knew about present scenario).

if you know someone who has done the Mughal rally last year (I think it takes place on the same road) that might be helpful to you.
