Hey guys, myself with a few friends are planning to get LEH'd for the first time this year.
We have moderate experience in riding, but mainly in the flats and the lower Himalayas (although we did ride to "zero degree point" once).
Our dates are 15-18th of July onward.
We are planning to take our bikes by train to Chandigarh and ride from there. Any route suggestion and advice, considering our first time, would be greatly appreciated.

Trip to Leh
Hi Fellow xbhpians,
Me and some of my friends are finally planning for a trip to leh(not like the last 7 years:P), this time we are really going...So lemme just jump directly to the point.
The above pic shows the proposed route covering all the major places. If anyone who has been through that road before or has any info regarding this, which may be helpful or useful to us, Please post and share your tips,things to take care of, advices, etc... Thanking everyone in advance.

@phanikar thanks for the reply. Plan is that on the nagpur run we start Blore at 0400. Will reach HYD by 1000.( I have done this stretch twice on bike with same timings). From here to adilabad I assume will be 3-4 more hours. So from Adilabad to Nagpur which is 160 KM will take another 3 hours, Should still reach nagpur by 1800.Originally posted by phanikar View Post

For the other bits I can consider that. 3 days back to Manali sounds good. Mostly will do that.

Reyaz, do review your start date. This time the passes might open up late (specially the leh-manali route) If they remain closed you will miss the most fun part of the ride, the Leh-Manali highway. Better go for chain cover and stock config tires. There are many tires available in 100/90-18 form. Anyways, 120mm fits well in ZMA but ZMR has lots of issues with the disc's presence.Originally posted by reyaz.haider View PostLeave a comment:
