Tech wise also its foolproof. There is a spare fuse under the seat, learn how to change that. Carry a tubeless tyre puncture repair kit. I guess that should be enough precaution.
While riding, don't get swayed by empty roads, stick to a speed which will leave you with enough reaction time in case someone/something suddenly jumps in, for eg.keep the speed upto 80kmph on 2 lane roads&100kmph on 4 lane roads. Controlled speed blasts are also fine, keep an eye out for bigger vehicles changing lanes etc.
Of course you already know the importance of riding gear. You must use a balaclava inside the helmet. Keep a scratchless visor ready. Do NOT use tinted visor for night riding. If not accustomed, better avoid night riding.
Make sure that you stop freqently enough so as to not let your body get dehydrated&also eat light meals. Relax&enjoy the ride!
Thank you for the tips. I will surely keep them in mind..
A fact -- It takes more love to share the pillion seat, than to share the bed.

I am using my 3-4 year old Mustang tankbag quite regularly, and its complete VFM. Used it in hot sun, blazing rains, cold, you name it! It served good in my Rajasthan ride too. The map pocket on top is handy, and being expandable only adds up to its virtues.

I saw cramster tankbag too, but its cost is quite high. But I heard Studds is phasing out the tankbag, so better get you hands on it fast. Very much recommended.

this route is mostly 4 lane, fast, safe and boring. you can also continue straight from kolhapur, go upto nipani and go to kudal via amboli ghat

this route is single lane, full of ghats after poladpur, a little slower than the first one, a little bit risky while overtaking, but much more fun if you ride carefully.

I am assuming you ride with the visor up. Get a new visor before the monsoon if it is too scratched.

                              • Planning for a ride

                                Hi fellow xBhpians,

I am planning for a ride this weekend from Pune to Hubli-Dharwad (Karnataka), my home town.

I have my new r15 which has approximately run 950km. I'm gonna get it serviced tomorrow and have plans of riding it home.

Will that be a load on the bike? And regarding the documents as such, I have plan of 3-4 days stay at my place n then return back to pune. Is it just sufficient with the insurance and bike's registration papers or do i need to take any permit or as such for such a short inter-state travel?

                                Please advise. Thanks in advance.

                                Br,
                                Kiran
