        Hi everyone,

        I am planning a solo trip between 22nd - 28th September on my Bullet.

        I will start from Hyderabad and my first stop will be Bangalore where I will stay overnight. The HYD-BLR highway should be in a decent shape I guess. I am, however, a little concerned about the other roads. Any pointers would be highly appreciated.

        1. Bangalore -> Chikmagalur @ 23rd Sept
        2. Chikmagalur -> Agumbe -> Maravanthe Beach -> NH66 -> Goa @ 25th Sept (https://goo.gl/maps/o6qg4dJHZ5ycUs1w9)
        3. Goa -> Belgaum -> Bagalkot -> Gulbarga -> NH65 -> Hyderabad @ 28th Sept (https://goo.gl/maps/UuU3J72nLU7CaUkHA)

        Thanks!

          Wow seems like a good trip. All the very best and are you staying in chikmangalur or just passing by?

          Recently The karnataka state was heavily damaged by Lavishing rains and floods. But better a Bengaluru guy can day the right now weather conditions there. Prior to your trip make sure that no heavy rains on your way. (Route)

            Hey..it was an awesome trip. [emoji16]
            I'll add the trip log soon..

            Here are some updates about the road conditions:

            1. Hyderabad - Bangalore -> good condition as usual. 2 flyovers bring constructed so there's a small patch 5-10 km where the road is bad. The rest is OK.

            2. Bangalore - Chikkamagalur -

            a) NH75 till Hassan was a dream to drive on. Superb road and riveting views. One of the best NHs I've driven on till date.
            The only point to note is that most traffic junctions on this road have 5-6 speed breakers together to slow the traffic. One needs to be careful as some of them are huge.
            b) Hassan - Belur road was also decent. For fuel I'd recommend the Essar pumps, they're neat and clean.

            From Belur, I took a small village road bypassing Chikkamagalur as the homestay I was staying at was ahead of Chikkamagalur (Kasge village). This small village road was also really nice with the exception of a few small patches.

            3. Was unable to go to Goa, so can't post details about the road conditions there. But my parent visited Goa around the same time and they warned me the roads inside Goa were in a terrible state

              Pondicherry - Bangalore - Coorg

              Any suggestions on routes (smooth, wide roads being our preference), halts, caution etc would be welcome.

                • Re: Updates On Road Conditions in South India

                  Folks, need some suggestions for short rides around Ooty. I am riding from Bangalore to Ooty on the 12th and returning back via Coimbatore on the 15th. I will be in Ooty on 13th and 14th morning and want to go on a full day ride on the 13th and potentially a 4-5 hour ride on the 14th before I leave Ooty.

                  I read about Upper Bhavani, Avalanche and the Western Catchment but it looks like those are closed for bikes. Is that correct?
