You can surely join us, only thing is you have to do atleast a 500+kms ride with us before the Leh ride. so that we can get comfortable with each others riding style, its very imp for our safetyOriginally posted by neville_kc View PostHey.. can I join you guys?

And SOLO LEH is not a sensible idea

But you ought to have a good riding experience beforehand and should have a good understanding of your machineOriginally posted by spiderweb View PostYou can surely join us, only thing is you have to do atleast a 500+kms ride with us before the Leh ride. so that we can get comfortable with each others riding style, its very imp for our safety

I second Kurt on this. Solo rides are good, enjoyable, memorable but like wise, one should have a taste of riding solo. Not to forget, good riding skills, level head etc etc etc.Originally posted by kurtrules View PostInfact, I would think otherwise. Do it solo, if you have to. And yes, you will cherish it for the rest of your life.
all cheers
dcsIts not about the BHP or the CC, its about one common religion called Biking!!!

No worries... I have done plenty of 500+kms trips.. with the most recent being to diveagar last month...Originally posted by spiderweb View PostYou can surely join us, only thing is you have to do atleast a 500+kms ride with us before the Leh ride. so that we can get comfortable with each others riding style, its very imp for our safety

I have not done a 1000+kms trip... but no worries there too... I've rode my bike a couple of times for almost 10-12 hrs in a day...
I agree, solo rides have a totallee different feelin...Originally posted by kurtrules View PostInfact, I would think otherwise. however, I'm not that well versed with the technical know-how of bikes... simple stuff such as changing cables, adjusting the chain is fine... but I'll be in a fix if something major happens...
so I think its best for me to travel in a group... atleast for my first major touring ride...

Agreed that SOLO rides are most memorable, but there is a gap between being crazy & being sensible (no offence meantOriginally posted by dcs View PostI second Kurt on this. )
Lets say, one does Delhi-Chandigarh or Mumbai-Pune or Bangalore-Chennai, even daily, to say the least he's a good rider & a good tourer, but here we are talking about Leh. And you would agree that its nothing like the everyday ride on a highway, where getting water, food, petrol, mechanic, etc is very easy.
Well you both are big time tourers I dont need to tell you this, but Am just saying that its dangerous to do Leh solo, but i'll agree, super-adventurous too
Well dude, Diveagar is just 220 kms from Mumbai.Originally posted by neville_kc View PostNo worries... I have done plenty of 500+kms trips.. with the most recent being to diveagar last month...

(500kms on normal roads is 100-150 kms max on Himalayan ghats)
By saying that you have to do a 500kms ride with us before Leh, we simply want to make sure that you are a safe rider, a team player & match our riding styles. Not a big deal for you, but for us it is as we want you & us to be safe & enjoy every bit of the BIG ride, I hope you understand
