That's great. I've been advocating the same, either FY1 or the VYDE or the Zapper or the MPS or the Ceat or the Pirelli. Though the grip post quite a few thousand KMS tends to go down with the MPS, but that's a great purchase. Keep us posted on some snaps of both the front and rear.

Thanks, Sird. I always wanted to get the Pirelli for her, but yes I've read numerous reports on how the Pirelli fares initially and then post a thousand odd KMS. That's why I am considering to stick with VYDE for now. I mean I just love the VYDE's thread pattern. I'd love PIRELLI for the front and stick to SIRAC if possible.

Hunting for SIRAC continues, if any, just one stock of it, I'd just zap it.

Front :

The tire seems good after 16k odd k.m. but some places looks over-worn
The rubber is just not smooth there and feels like I did Hard Burnout.

You can see these kind of tiny tiny holes in full tire !

Rear :

Seriously damaged from many months now.
This cut was small after 5-6k k.m and now increasing slowly slowly.
The cut is deep and just not something that you'll avoid.
And the same tiny holes as Front tire. The tire feels very comfortable when low on Air-Pressure but now feels a bit dodgy while leaning when Air-Pressure is Accurate / Tight tire.

The Overall Condition of Tires @ 16-17k k.m. is seriously very bad as compared to MRF.
We know its soft compound and its obvious but then its high on pocket.

If you remember, The last calculation I made for Pirelli and Dunlop / MRF / Ceat.
Pirelli is not fit if you count your money every now and then.

Better to get 2x Dunlop in place of 1x Pirelli.

But as [MENTION=65210]Andy2912[/MENTION] said he got "Michelin Pilot Sportys" for 4.4k
The price is same as MRF / Ceat / Dunlop.
Its considerable.

But I'll be going for Dunlop / MRF / Michelin this time.
And I'll make sure I'll Upgrade my Bike before they're Old. !

There is a shop at Lamington Road opp Minerva theatre. Can't remember the name though. Its run by a Sardarji. He helped me fish out the tyres from a heap and personally vouched for them. Went on a Sunday afternoon. That's y the price. Original quote was 5.2k

My observation visually..
FY has rounder profile and comes in 80/100 right? and FY1 was Flat profile and comes in 90/80 right?
according to that MRF shop owner FY1 will not take load of pulsar 220,blah blah blah....i was like WTF both have same load/speed rating 46p. wonder why was he against using fy1 on p220.
both are available for 1600/- Rs.
Which one do i go for?

Bonkers! I've never seen a soft compound tire with a lateral split like that, you sure you didn't go over a wedge or something.

But jokes aside, seriously I doubt how reliable it'd be as time goes by just for the tire to hold the air. But still the threads are good, I understand it's a soft compound, but this is ridiculous. Perhaps that's the reason no Indian company is offering full soft compound tires which will shred like bread pieces.

I wish to buy a 140/17 tyre for a 17" wheel (CBR250 rear). Which of the following give a good balance between grip and durability for street use?
I believe I should be looking at medium compound tyres.

My options are:
MRF (Vyde / Zapper ..? pls help me here)
Dunlop Tuff Grip.
ContiGo
Michelin Street pilot / sirac

Your suggestions welcomed.
I stay in Bangalore. Work in BLock 1 Koramangala.

Contigo has gotten thumbs down reviews from most CBR 250R users. VYDE is soft compound, and it's rounder profile and is an excellent cornering tyre so does Michelin Pilot Sporty, and all round profile and have good grip. Tuff Grip is round profile too, and from the reviews I've read It makes the bike a tad taller due to sidewall measurement.

I'd recommend you the MPS or the VYDE else for the current speck you can stick to Dunlop of the VYDE at 150.

Vyde is a soft rubber and so is Michellin Pilot Sport, but as want a medium rubber, go with either Zapper Q or Dunlop Tuffgrip. . . If you love to do cornering and all other stuffs, stick with Vyde or Pilot Sport, else go with the ones I have suggested. . .

I will never suggest zapper-q to anyone.... its a nonsense tyre.... worse than my 200ns stock eurogrips... total waste... i get nasty wheelspins so many times.... skids even without any warning..... goes sideways inside corners.... total bakwas
