C'mon man. Touching is not really the best way to judge softness of the tyre compound, I'm sure after all these years even you know that

I've been running the Pilot Sporty up front since May this year, done about 8K kms and the grip levels are just about MRF levels in dry and below TVS levels in wet.

I have a 200ns, but I want cornering on my bike, which the eurogrips fail to provide. That's why I was thinking of metzelers due to their exceptional grip.

And one more surprise for you guys.. Went to just book the Scooter but took the delivery within 2 hrs

I agree that feeling the tire is not the best way to judge it's compound. But initial inference can be drawn from it. And side by side comparison with a new vyde revealed that the pilot is softer than vyde.

Will reserve my comments till the initial running in is done. I get to take a steep left hand upward curve which was comfortable in the vyde till 60 kmph. Will check how this one fares .

Au contraire, I wore off my Vyde in 10K vs. the Pilot Sporty not showing any signs of wear now even after 8K kms, agreed I am comparing a rear tyre with a front tyre. But still, the Pilot Sporty front is wearing (if at all) at the same rate as MRF.

Completely agree with you on the Pilot Sporty. Been using it for a couple of months. Changed it during the monsoons. Was worse than my bald stock MRF! 3 times i have almost lost the front in the wet with moderately hard braking. Long legs saved my butt from grazing the tarmac or else i was a real goner right then.

Moral of the story. Don't buy Michelin Pilot Sporty.

Note to Self - Find a BAKRA who will be willing to buy this tyre off me

How about trying revz for the rear and fy1 (if am not wrong about the name, same used in fz) for front, I guess their sum would be close to 6k or so, . . Many 200NS have used it and they all have a positive feed back of it, why don't you give it a go. . .

PS: Just an opinion instead of spending 12k for Metzler, Revz is an alternative. . .

So pilot sporty at front is scary then. Hope the rear is soft enough. At least as soft as vyde.

I would recommend zapper fy1 at the front. Bloody awesome piece of rubber!! The best available in 90 section

the stock tyre of fz is zapper fx 100/80 and that of r15 is fy1 90/80 in r15 v1 it was 80/90 . fy1 is an awesome piece of rubber, i have had it installed in my apache's front. with it you can do stoppie even in wet conditions,

Greetings all!

I intend to change my worn out front tyre of my Fazer which has clocked 18,000 kms over a span of 40 months.

I recently changed the rear tyre to the Medium Compound Conti 140-70 R17 and contrary to what most people say, I haven't found any problem with its grip at all.

I have the following options for the front:

CEAT 90-90 R17

Conti 110-70 R17

Michelin 100-80 R17

Michelin seems to be the best option out here but will it cause problems with grip considering that they're offering the softer compound while I have the medium compound at the rear?

Which one should I go for?

I am going to change my rear tyre for Pulsar180 Ug3 version. I am using original MRF Zapper C for my rear. Now Which should be best option for me.
I have primarily choosen

Michelin Sirac
Pirelli --
pirelli mt75/may be super demonAny more suggestion will be good.I frequently go for visiting several places.Now a days all Pulsars are coming with tubeless tyres. are they good for upgrade?Lastly I can see lots of shops selling tyres. Dont know which one is good. Please guide me where I can get original in Hyderabad.Animesh

That statement is quite contradictory. Softer compounds offer better grip than hard and medium are a mix of both, reason being to last long and provide good grip. Pure soft compounds wear faster and are usually a tad costlier. You have the MRF Revz, Dunlop Monster both are soft compounds are are very good.

Both are these tires are overkill for the P220 considering if you have a deep pocket for the Pirelli. Yes, tubeless' pros overweight that of tube types. For more info, just Google "advantages of tubeless versus tube tire"

The best option for 180 would be Zapper VYDE which is a rounder profile, offers good cornering abilities, currently using in my bike and for the front you can consider PSD or MRF FY1 both are good tires.
