Using a K&N Filter provides improved flow of air to engine, and this is possible only when the obstruction to flow is reduced but then they have done so in some of their models by increasing the surface area of suction ......... more over they have also provided details on their web of certain lab test results to prove their filters. You should take a look

Hi @sniper , Can you kindly suggest me a model number of K&N Filter or any other reputed aftermarket AF that has a direct fit in the Honda Stunner ............. I mean I intend not to touch my AF Setup/box at all .............. I am only looking for a replacement of my stock Honda filter.

    Warm Regards,
    Pranav

Hi, there is no Stock Replacement Air filter for the Stunner. the RC1060 fitted directly on the carb is the best option. Needs rejetting though.

I'm looking to install K&N 1060 in my Unicorn. I understand that it needs up-jetting. Does up-jetting mean that I should buy a new bigger size jet for my carburetor? Or is it just a tweak on the carburetor?

Where can I get the K&N installed and up-jetting done in Chennai?

Guys which one is better between K&N and UNI. I read and heard that UNI is better for dusty conditions (which is very much prevalent here in India). What is your take on this?

Guya i installed the k&n rc1060 on pulsar 200ns by removing the airfilter box and installing directly on carb, now the cab is connected via the engine by a rubber pipe(almost similar to any other bike) but the carb and conical k&n are both balanced on the rubber pipe. The pipe is made of strong material but and is designed to take tbe weight of carb. But what i wanna ask i does the added weight of the air filter, is going to create any problems, like the pipe coming off the engine or sumthing.

You don't need to worry about anything.
The Air Filter is not that heavy, it should not cause any problems.

K&N are normally mental threaded airfilters,
Filters like UNI ( I preffer pipercross) are sponge based.

Sponge based filters are better for dusty conditions, but you need to remove them often and clean them. else they will choke up and not be able to allow air flow.
Also note that Sponge filters don't last that long compared to metal ones.

Also a k and n should suffice to normal dusty conditions, unless you have real off-roading or live on a beach driving then i think you should worry.

Thank you for the reply. I have classic 350, so what would you suggest. Also is rejetting must after installing K&N? How much mileage drop one can expect?

Gyan, rejetting is not required if you go for the K&N model E-0900.

Sorry but I am kind of noob to this air filter world. Why isn't the rejetting requured? I mean doesn't this filter draw more air than stock and to compensate that isn't rejetting required? Or just carb tuning is enough?

Its a common misconception. Instead of saying they draw more air, the better term would be that k&n filters allows the air to pass more easily thru the filter. So when the engine is sucking air it requires less work and hence its easy for it to do so. If you go for stock replacement filter, re jetting is not required , if you go for performance filter re jetting might be reqd.
i have a pulsar 200 ns and i have a conical type performance filter installed. No re jetting(jets were already big & similar to 220) , still power mileage both have increased, and no issues of carbon deposits on the spark plug or engine over heat, or similar issues related to running on lean mixtures.

Mileage has increased?? By how much? Doesn't theoretically make any sense.. More air drawn means more fuel required to avoid running lean.
