While the above post was made about a month back but still as no one seemed to reply regarding the misinformation contained in it I am quoting and correcting itOriginally posted by Mindgrinder View Postin that case hydrogen is not combustible but it can fuel combustion to a blast level H2 formula, used in rockets though. Air is a mixture, mixture is something with no defined quantities so u cannot judge the quantity etc if u talk about molecules you are right but significantly in case of compounds, H2 cannot be stored easily so its not available, air consists of water vapor etc or the other, all i know i fill nitrogen and feel better in control and less leakage so i am happy, less trouble for me, i think rossiter is right we should take argument to PM's but this place abt reviews and not views, so please if you have query post it, if you tried it post a review.
Dude please check you science facts before posting
Hydrogen is one of the most flammable and explosive gases. It is considered one of the best fuels (and also clean as burning it in results in water) and hence used as rocket fuel.
regarding the use of N2 in tires i would like to point to an interesting observation made here Carbon Dioxide Tyre and Nitrogen Tire Inflation, CO2 diffusion

Indian Army is using Nitrogen in their vehicle tyres for a few years now. Especially around the capital region.
It seems the problem is with the quality of Nitrogen and the method of filling. You gotta fill Nitrogen by purging the air in the tyre by filling once, releasing and then filling again. Many Nitrogen generators are giving about 95% purity. The ones made by Butler (Italy) are giving about 98-99% purity. So, next time check the machine.
Surprisingly, it seems that even those Nitrogen cylinders for industrial purpose have about 97-98% purity.

well i saw a nitrogen filling unit at a HP petrol bunk near my house yesterday....the guy said its Rs 150 for 1 year and you will get a card of some sort...and whenever you are at any N2 filling bunk, you can show the card and get your tires inflated with N2 for free (ie until the 1 year period is valid)
im not sure if i got it right or if there are some other T&C, but i'll surely try it out.If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough - Albert Einstein
I think i know less than what you think i know.

I recently filled in nitrogen in my tyres. Loved the way the bike felt so planted on the ground. The tyre ran cooler as well which was excellent I think
.
though since i have tubeless and have had many punctures, the N gas wouldnt last for more than a week
...(Which is still better considering every 3 days i fill in some air in my rear tyre
... grrr
I think nitrogen is def worth it and anyways they offer the first four refills free which aint so bad me thinks !

Nitrogen in R15
Today first time in my life i filled nitrogen in my r15 tyres and found it really good... i dint expected this.....i feel my bike more light and smooth and also to check i released the acceleration while riding and found bike was moving at a good speed even without race for few distance, which was not earlier with normal air.
although it cost but is great.
Available at BP petrol pump near moolchand flyover(south delhi)
Costing - Rs. 50 for three months (3 top ups)
Air Pressure
Front wheel - 19
Rear Wheel - 22
(Yamaha R15)
the chap on the filling station said sir top up will only be required when the tyre get punctured, but can come anytime to check the pressure.
and yes i have checked on net about the cons of filling this gas and found few general points like availability, costing, etc...
