As of now the oil had turned a bit dark but the engine is quite smooth though the sound had increased which is hardly noticable.I have a humble suggestion to offer here. You should always search a little on the thread before putting up a query. Anyways, as B7ACKTHORN sir has recently re-stated ............ and so I'm quoting his post here for you to read. FYI Motul 5100 is a SS oil.Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostAs I've stated in my another thread. 2.5k for a mineral and 1k to 2k more for SS and FS

Maybe the most frequently asked questions could be displayed on the top of the site all the time if that is possible.

This one question has been bludgeoned to death a number of times, in this thread especially, the 5100Originally posted by Abhisek View PostI using Motul 5100 for the first time after using yamalube (which I used to change at a interval of around 2200 kms)on my FZ. But to your question, an *ideal* change scenario considering a lot of factors on how one rides, how frequently one rides and the very condition of the engine of the bike. That being said, for 5100 I'd say 3k max. Personally I've changed it close to 4k~ but that's me. An ideal figure should be 3k for 5100. Trust me, my Victor fell in love with Yamalube, just super smooth.

Re: Engine Oils
They sure have something in it, but what is the application? As most of our Pulsar's, Karizma's & R15's are not able to use the fuel at its full efficiency. So expense on the premium petrol in these bikes is not recommended.Originally posted by siddharthsure View PostGuys, does shell super unleaded petrol (premium petrol) contain any additive to clean deposits from injector and engine??? Re: Engine Oils
I suppose the only way to assess if a particular grade or type of oil (brands apart) would be good after any xxxx number of kilometer usage, it to test for all parameters of performance in a lab. A mere sight, viscosity, gear smoothness would not suffice. I remember having read some of the Hindustan motors SVC have a kit to check this.

Re: Engine Oils
Using these additives once in 5k km will keep the carb/injector clean and also help clean debris from engine.. So am filling 2 tank full of premium every 5000km just to keep my engine healthyOriginally posted by forceedge View PostThey sure have something in it, but what is the application? But i want to know whether shell super unleaded has these additives

Re: Engine Oils
Yes, System-G, STP injector cleaners, etc etc, especially the fuel additives, they don't give me much unless your bike has a high compression ratio like super sport bikes, where there is a negligible difference using additives. For our bikes, additives in fuel doesn't matter. All one needs to worry about is the quality of the fuel being used. As most fuel injected bikes don't go well with a bad fuel, so that's should be a prime factor in deciding the fuel station etc. But all in, personally I have *felt* nothing with the quality of fuel being used and additives etc. It's purely psycological, personally.Originally posted by siddharthsure View PostGuys, does shell super unleaded petrol (premium petrol) contain any additive to clean deposits from injector and engine??? You can use 10w40 Semi Synth 5100 or 10w40 Motul or you can try using Shell Advance Ultra FS 10w40 Motorcycle oil. All are good oils.Originally posted by adi231189 View PostGuys can anyone advice on 20W40 grade oil for my GS150r, my bike was previously running on Gulf Pride. Gulf is good, but wanted to shift to Full Synth, since bike has completed 63K kms.

Re: Engine Oils
It has cleaning additives. Shell India page confirms it. Please have a look. It does keeps your engine clean.Originally posted by sinnerz2000 View PostI don't think fuel would have cleaning additives, shell fuel is clean already and it sure does have performance additives .
