            While searing for something on the top self of our kitchen, i Found out that there is a 3L jar of Castrol Engine oil, which i guess must be the left over oil (unused) of our previous Maruti 800.
            the specifications mentioned on the Jar Says - SAE 20W50 API SF/CC

            My question is can i use it on my bike (200NS) at least for topping up purposes??
            NS normally takes up 1.2 Ltrs of OIL (recommended grade 20W50), and thus I always have to buy another Bottle for making upp that 200ML..

            Thus if Some one can Suggest if i can top up that 20 Ml from this Castrol oil.

              Why can't you buy two liters and use one for top up, that's what most guys do. But a strict no no with respect to this oil. The grade is for older vehicles.

              You can either fill in that 1L and then get a new one top up. If it's 50 Ml here and there, last ditch then yes, but still not recommended.

                Bros, need your help.
                I came across an Engine flush yesterday at Reliance Autozone.
                There was only a small Engine flush can of 100 ml. So my doubt was that, How much ML of engine flush is needed to have an engine clean inside??
                I want to do the engine flush for my Fz. So how many ML of engine flush i need to put???
                And is it safe to use ??

                  Yes , you can do small volume top-ups with this oil if needed . Don't exceed 10-20% of total volume . Untill you know all the things about the oil and become sure that it has no clutch-slip additives in it . However it's quite safe , they usually don't put those in 20w50 SF/CC oils . You can use this 20w50 oil for chain lube , general purpose lubricating on the bike and as the foam air-filter oil too .

                  If your engine really has some hard dirt/sluge in it and a chunk of it gets loosened by the engine flush , it can block off one of the narrow oil circuclation channels inside and starve the engine of oil . The potential for harm is more than any benefits .
                  You can try a normal oil cycle with diesel rated oil too , those have high detergency and cleans well . To clean your engine , best is to stick to early oil changes and regular oil-filter change or cleaning (as the case may be with your bike) .

                    Exactly my thoughts as well Pinaki Da..
                    Since the specification Of the oil Says "SF", (which as per my knowledge is inferior In quality as compared to SG ; SL; etc) so i am assuming that it will PROBABLY NOT HAVE those anti-friction properties leading to a clutch slippage.. But i cannot find any further info on the jar. it just says recommended for Maruti 800, Omni, etc etc..
                    Also IF i mix, it will be 200 ML out of 1.2 ltr needed in the Engine.; which comes to less than 20% of the total volume.

                    ALso nice idea to use it as a Chain lubricant.
                    However, NS has Paper type Air Filter. So can't put the oil to use there.

                      Not recommended bro. There is difference between API SF & API SL oil.

                      It will be wise enough, if you purchase different oil and use it for top up purpose.

                      Its good to get engine flushing done. It helps keep the engine clean and helps remove dirt and other things from the engine. Did you ask them how will they do the flushing? It is advisable to do the flushing on every oil change.

                        The diameter of splendor's oil gallery which supplies oil to head(cam,tappets,timing chain) is hardly 1.5 mm ! It can block easily and I have seen one engine with roasted camshaft.

                          Unable to find Shell oil in my city. The distributor are selling whole drum and found one retailer today he offer 15L @Rs4200. Is there any other company oil which have same characteristic.

                            There are lots of additives, flushes, cleaners etc etc. And as I've said, use flush only after certain KMS, using flush on a constant basis would ruin your engine internals, as they contain pretty harsh chemicals that chemically alter internal surface of the engine. I'd say flushes should be used, as a general rule only after three to five continued oil changes, not at every single change.

                            Most bikes, cars etc, do have a distinguishable oil galleries, not too big not too small. Sludge is sludge for any gallery which has holes in it. Google sludge in engines, and you'll see the first one in Images a V8 fully sludged up, along with its oil galleries, gunked up.

                                I meant to say that some oil galleries are very small and can get blocked easily when an engine flush is used.
                                Deposited sludge will not have any significant impact when compared to the dislodged sludge suspended in oil which can block the narrow oil passages leading to catastrophic failure of some critical parts due to lack of lubrication.
                                You very well know that most of our bikes still use centrifugal filter and once it is full of sludge then there is no more filtration of oil taking place and hence it is to be cleaned periodically.

                                Sometimes engine flushes can even dislodge the sludge/residue present in the centrifugal filter and block the supplies oil galleries.

                                Flushing is not required at all if the oil is changed regularly within the drain interval. None of the bikes or cars that I have owned had any problem related to sludge and I have never used any kind of flush.
                                My 8 year old Indigo has done over 160k kms(with a drain period of 6k kms), 04 Splendor over 20k Kms(1800kms/4 months) and Passion 05(now sold) did over 250k kms(with a drain interval of 3K).
                                If you want, I can give you some more examples.

                                I have always used the best engine oil which I can afford to drain within the drain period just like Pinaki ji. I don't prefer any costly SS or FS oils.
