Since no one answered my question, I decided to try Shell Rimula R3X first.

I can feel as if the engine is heavy, but no loss in acceleration. Is it due to the thickness of the oil?

Everything else is smooth though, and the engine somehow also sounds smoother.

But still too early to say anything about the oil, must wait to finish up after 200kms.

Your question was unanswered because nobody had experience of both Delvac and Rimula. But looking at the observations of many who rode their bikes on these oils, both oils are good. Even your experience speaks for itself.
The heaviness is because of the slightly thicker nature of the oil and it also signifies that you are well protected.

When I describe it as heavy, I meant the good kind of heavy. Took the bike out just now for a ride to test it. Engine seems to be very smooth at higher rpm, vibration also reduced.

And best of all, I got it for just Rs. 250 for 1L.

Have any of you heard of any small community which prefers HDEO before in India? I've heard bikers using it widely in Indonesia and Malaysia. They even have a fan group to discuss the use of HDEO both in bikes and cars. They tested these oil from small bikes to superbikes, like Honda CBR1000RR and Suzuki GSXR. Even with all the fully synthetic range of products available, they still prefer to use HDEO. Some even already tested the Motul 300v but prefers Petro-Canada oil instead.

Blackthorn'Jee , it's been since the last quite a few posts , I didn't get even half of what you said . Remove the longish thing about the bachelor guy trailing your post . We have read it over and over .
Also my humblemost request to ALL , please do not quote the whole of a previous post in all details and all the pics . We have already read that ... no need to repeat it in total . Just the line important to the context is sufficient to remind us of the topic at hand . All these just junk up the threads , wastes everyone's time , wastes bandwidth and most importantly makes the thread difficult to read and follow . Pinaki ji. Thanks for the heads up. As a matter of fact, I directly PM people these days, as this thread gets more technical, there are lot of questions left unanswered. But that aside there are definitely some who don't understand what I post, or perhaps I am too rhetoric, but definitely there are people who understand and have helped me. Not every fingers are the same you see.

And please never ever call me Jee. But forgive me, I've had to tag along this time.

So guys, finally changed the engine oil and oil filter today. It was around 2000 km old, but I completed 4 months on it, hence changed.
Used same old Delvac 1300. As preventive maintenance, I did replace the spark plug too. I am a newbee to judge spark plugs. May I request any expert reading this to tell me what does this spark plug tell you about engine health? Its 14000 km old, was using diesel engine oil from last 7-8K kms.

You mixture is lean. Can you see the ground electrode in white, that clearly resembles the mixture is a tad leaner. But I guess it shouldn't be of a problem, unless it's too rich or fouled.

I have done total 6000 kms with MOUTL 300V 2 days back on my Fz,(odo reading 22k)
Trust me, still the bike is going BUTTER SMOOTH. (will change it in a day as drain period comes to an end)
The riding was like 40% highway, 60% city. Checked the oil level every 500 kms. The level never went down till 4800 kms.
Then i have done a top up of 70 ml at 5000 kms.
Only one word for MOTUL-300V- ITS AWESOME OIL.

I'm no expert but to me, plug looks good. perfect tan color. just clean the threads.. or may be not, just change the plug.. looks a little worn.

The plug was replaced with a new one.
I have over some days time read a lot about spark plugs and numerous images and inferences. My conclusion is that the plug is perfect, the engine is sound and there is no oil leakage or lean or aggressive fuel mix. The first three threads are black which means that the heat rating of the plug is matched perfectly with the type of engine. There are many many images of spark plugs floating around and numerous inferences. The best I like was this one -

Dear all HDEO users,

You can count me in this group.
Yesterday I have poured Rimula R3X in my unicorn which has 98K kms under its belt.
One time half overhaul done at 87k.
OK back to oil, I was using Veedol super swift 10W40 SS oil. The performance and FE(58kmpl) was very good.
After reading posts from PSR and mustariq I have convinced and took a plunge.

I have rode 100 kms after the R3X change under scorching sun near chennai. Here are my observations compared to Veedol 10W40.

1. Crisp throttle response missing from this oil for first few kms and there is no change in acceleration. The only small negative ends here.

2. I was riding at constant 70 kph for 40 kms at 41deg. and I never felt even a small amount of heat in my legs. Earlier it was very hot down there.

3. 98 K old drive train normally will make some kind of noise. Now the engine really quiet at 6k rpm.

4. Little heavyness felt and there is no clutch slippage even though the clutch plates are more than 40k kms old.

Mileage figures will update in a couple of days.

@PSR after using this HDEO oil, what is happening to the heat produced from this 150cc lean burn IC engine? Good oil should transfer the excessive heat to the air fins which is always we felt at our legs right?
