Since you wish to try synthetic oils , and there isn't any in the 20w40 grade . Nearest would be a 10w40 or 15w40 synthetic . My suggestion is to stick with 20w40 motul , gulf or yamalube and save your money for timely oil changes .

Yea go for shell ax7 10W40 its a SS oil which costs just 350 bucks and lasts atleast 1000km more than mineral oil and smoother too, so its a good VFM oil.

Thanks guys.. Will try out shell this time.. If it goes towards good, then will stick to it.. Or else go for the stock..

Motul 300V vs Shell FS( dunno name) which one do you prefer for R15?? Using 300V now. Its a brilliant oil but the price is too much and its increasing from this month. Sometimes I drive is super heavy traffic where even motul 5100 gave up ( engine will become harsh and gear shift will become hard ) only 300V holds good in these situations. So am expecting same from shell. Need suggestions

If 300v is expensive then go for Motul 7100 its around 700 bucks.

Guys can we use dtsi oil and motul 5100 together....like first 1200km on dtsi then draining it and filling motul for 2800km aprox....on a pulsar 220....will it hamper engines life????

To en extent yes, but I'd advice a strict NO! Reason being two part, first off, even both having the same base doesn't mean they can be mixed liberally as such. The antioxidants contained in Motul and in the DTSi Oil vary. So I'd suggest you top ONLY a few 100 ML of the Motul or DTSI viceversa, but no more than ML, just in case you run out of top up oil.

Pretty close you can get the Mobil1 if you can source one, really good oil. But why not try the 7100 instead, as it's comparatively a tad cheaper than the 300V. Personally I'd say using 300V on the 150cc and lesser counterpart is purely an overkill. It's meant for pure high performance *VOLCANIC* heat requirements. You can consider 7100, but from Shell I'm afraid there isn't any to my knowledge other than the AX7 and AX3 which I've used for which I can vouch.

Its ok if u do it a few times, just don't change the brand often let the bike settle with one oil.

It's not bad, but if you intend to do it very often, with different grade then you have problem. If you know you are using the same grade and replacing them is not an issue, because oils like other things do have certain antioxidants which though not that radically different do indeed indeed differ to an extent, especially higher spec oils like Mobil, Motul etc. which may reduce the overall efficiency of the oil. But I'd suggest you use discretion when considering frequent oil change with different brands.

Please recommend me a suitable engine oil for commuting (synthetic / semi synthetic)

Also, what is the company recommended oil for victor glx??

Wow all that for a victor :-D fully synthetic oils on a low cc bike don't make any difference, you can use shell ax7 or Motul 5100 both are semi synthetic oils.

Boy welcome. so happy to see a VICTOR GLX 125cc user here, being a proud owner of one (my first bike) I've given her nothing but the best of oils. Try Yamalube 15w50 really works wonders on the bike. I've used it for two consecutive oil replacements and gear shifts are butter smooth and engine note is more sweeter.

Oils I've used on the Victor GLX

Agip 20w40
Castrol Activ Xtra 20w40
Yamalube 15w50 SS
Shell AX3 and AX7, all these really lasted well, and Yamalube was holds the upper edge in my personal usage suggestion.
and a quite a few more Mak etc

And sinnerz2000 it's not just "all that for a Victor mate" It's a gem of an engine and an excellent workhorse, 7 years and she's still best as ever.

So happy to see VIC 125 GLX user here. Kudos.

Victor GLX, wow cool mann, you bought back my memories of riding it six to seven years back , now speaking about the oil, try out shell Advance Ax7 semi-synthetic oil and/or Motul 5100. . .

Guys, have been on Motul 15W50 for the past 1k. The engine heats up quitr a lot and heat can be easily felt on the legs. Has anyone experienced the same? My ride is FZ-S.

(Dont remember whether it is Motul 7100 or 5100)

Thank you mates for your suggestions... truly GLX125 is a workhorse.. about me 'I believe in performance modifications, not in cosmetic modifications. can any one tell me about 'Gulf pride 4T plus 20w40..?

What is the engine oil recommended for Hero Hunk? 10w30 or 15w40...

10w30 the hero engine is used always.. thinking to give castrol 15w40engine oil a try?

Will that affect performance of the bike.. ?
Will the performance and smoothness improve or it will get worse..

Please explain.. not much into technical details.. layman's language will be better understood?
