Yesterday i changed the oil in my Karizma R to Castrol Power 1 Racing and i cant believe how smooth the engine has become!! There are almost no vibes at any speed and the feel of the throttle has become immensely smooooth....
I dont know if its a placebo effect or whatever but the bike has become extremly smooth, the engine doent seem stressed out even when shifting close to the redline and the bike seems to pull very cleanly in any gear...Remember Respect is Everthing!

This topic was discussed in SO MUCH Detail... its gone now ...sheesh...feel so sad about it.
Anyway the above two posts are bang on the spot about what service center chaps do.
As for SHell Helix - not its not JASO MA certified AFAIK. Correct me if I am wrong.
20W50 - options are limited - VP4T,Motul 300VFL etc...
280 per litre chalta hai ? Then you can get VP4T - SemiSynth ... very good oil.
What about Hitanshu's Veedol ...wasn't he saying that it was the best ever 20W50 mineral he used ?
Sandeep bro it would b compleat stupidity to as u this question but then i do feel the need to ask u
one of ma frnd has just opned a bajaj service center first he has usin a agip oil for bikes
then he started usin a valvolin engin oil

Hello Guys
I own a beautiful REd Zma R done 3000km so far till now i was using Motul 3000 plus 10w-30 grade mineral oil as was unable to find HH 10w30 manufactured by Idemitsu all i found was manufactured by BP.
Guys not really happy with motul performance oil looses its velocity after 600-700km and engine becomes rough again.
I use Zma for weekend touring and daily commute
Please help me and recommed a good oil for my baby
I am thinking of castrol power 1 racing which is 10w40
my questions are
1.how long it will last?
2.how is the performance?
3.is it ok to use 10w-40 on a 10w30 recommended machine?
4.Where in mumbai can i find genuine oil?
5.if you guys dont recommend this oil where in mumbai can i find HH 10w 30 manufactured by Idemitsu?Last edited by dreamz_mak; 06-28-2009, 05:46 AM.

As I mentioned before, Gulf Pride 10W30 is really very good oil. I switched over to this from HH Idemitsu oil. It outperforms the Idemitsu oil noticably. Engine has become smoother and seems to heat up less. Pick up also seems to have increased to an extent. The Gulf oil is also an extended drain product, and Gulf claims you can use it for 5 - 6 k km, same as the HH oil. Whats more, both these oils cost nearly the same, so Gulf seems to be a really good option, and great VFM. This is possibly the best option for those who don't want to spend money on expensive fully synthetic oils.Originally posted by dreamz_mak View Posti did some digging and found this link http://www.bikeindia.in/news/BikeStuff/Gulf-Pride-4T-Plus-Engine-Oil/

Friends who have used Gulf and Motul 10W30 (mineral) say Gulf outperforms Motul too. Motul is apparently not an extended drain oil, so it turns out to be expensive too.
The next best option is possibly Elf Moto4. It has a claimed double drain period. So it is also good VFM.
dreamz_mak, if you really want Idemitsu, try contacting Idemitsu thru their website. Else you can also try the HH oil made by Veedol. It is supposed to be comparable to Idemitsu... though I haven't tried it myself. Contact the Veedol distributor, and you may also get a home delivery. But why bother about HH oils when you can use Gulf / Elf ?
Btw, Gulf Pride comes in 20W40 grade too and is supposed to last for a similar period (5 - 6 k km, for average, mixed usage pattern).Last edited by Raccoon; 06-28-2009, 05:40 PM.

Motul is a mineral oil(the one u talking about here is 30004T) which is being compared with a semi synthetic(Gulf) in your post.Originally posted by Raccoon View PostFriends who have used Gulf and Motul 10W30 (mineral) say Gulf outperforms Motul too. And expensive?
This 3000 4T hardly costs 175+ bucks. When everything comes ur way, u r in the wrong way ;)

Ok ppl.. you guys told me to use Motul 300v or Valvoline premium 4t (posts #935, 936) right?? Since 300v is really expensive, i went around looking for valvoline in karol bagh. Forget valvoline, i couldn't find any brand of oil of an Xw50 grade!!
The first thing that pissed me off is that why are people selling stuff if they do not have any clue about the stuff!!
Secondly, no one keeps valvoline or motul! Forget these particular brands.. i couldn't find a single bottle of any brand of Xw50 grade oil! One a** h*** said that you can take castrol GTX!
Bloody hell thats meant for cng/lpg vehicles! I had borrowed a friend's bike and my bike was there in the service centre and then at 5'o clock i gave up my futile search and called up the service centre guys and directed them to use Castrol activ with fuel additives!
And now my bike seems like crap to me! And just to answer in advance to those who speculate, 'it's all in the mind'.. i am not hallucinating!
The gears have become really hard and the pick up is sluggish!! Hell it seemed better with Power1!
So now can someone please tell me the address of a particular shop where i can buy a good oil of Xw50 grade?! Why i'm asking for a particular shop is that i get only one day to rest and i don't want to waste it running around from one place to another.. first to some distributor and then to some other place trying to make them understand by all means possible what 20w50 means!
Another reason being my bike's condition which has further spoiled my mood!
