I have 2003 make Hero Honda Ambition 125 cc (older version)

Please recommend a suitable engine oil for riding to Ladakh (touring in hills). what is approx cost and where can i get it in Delhi/Gurgaon?

Also, which oil should i use for city riding (20-30 km/day)

I guess thier is no 15w40 grade oil in Motul. but you can get 10w40 or 5w40 I am not sure, price last time I bought about 3 Months back was 725 INR/Ltr

You can get Motul from Cherry agencies near Minerva Circle.. this is next to next building after Nandini.

I have used it once.. Full time paisa vasool @ 340 a ltr this is one bang for u r buck oil.

I had used it for 5k kms & it was still good for another 1k.

You may try in JC Road, l cannot recall the shop name but this is next to Royal stores in the basement.

thanks for the info. could you tell me where exactly royal stores is located. even though i pass by jc road i dont look around due to the traffic

and my bike has run about 5000kms odo, is it too early to shift to petronas ? (i've been using mineral oil only till now)

Once U are in JC Road take 1st left @ MRF Madhu's & keep going straight & on to your left hand side you will find this Royal stores.

I guess 5k is more than Enough to change to Sprinta..

Well well.. I think you are the 2nd one to hear this I guess.. are you talking about VS Automobiles in Vivekanandanagar..

I think you must be able to get petronas in JC Road in a shop called Magaji Automobiles..

After entering the JC road from Minerva circle take left at 1st signal & keep going straight.. ( this shop is in Basement) on the left hand side.

PS - Even I checked for Petronas but as it is was not available I have bought a can of Motul 15w50 SS

My Karizma have completed 2300 km and awaiting 2nd servicig. But for smooth engine and gear I have decided to change oil.Most people suggest HH to use Idemitsu oil during initial stages but it seems like HH have shifted to some other brand( I heard MAC ) which is worse than Idemitsu.I think SC people use non Idemitsu oil

So please help me choosing right oil from below options,I dont want to go for synth oil

1)Gulf Pride 4T Plus 10W30(Semi synth)- This oil has very good reviews but its Semi synth . Should I got for Semi synth oil with only 2k odd km on meter ?

2)motul 3000 4T Plus 10W30(mineral) - this has good reviews but few suggests that it looses effect soon.

3)Gulf Pride 4T Plus 20W40(Mineral)- again very good reviews and its mineral but grade is different compared to HH default(10W30)

4)Shell Advance SX4 10W30(Mineral)-not heard any reviews

5)Last option is to buy HH Idemitsu 10W30(Mineral) from some other HH authorized shop and fill it from mech

please suggest which one is better option for me.

I also have 2003 ambition and it is 133cc.
I once used Motul 3000 mineral oil and the difference in smoothness is amazing, but only for a shorter period. Also used Castrol Active, Power 1, Gulf Pride so far. Never experimented/thought of any other oil because I was not aware of the significance of the Engine Oil and the different brands, the viscosities etc and mainly I was not aware of this forum. Of these engine oils I've used(only 4 though), Castrol active was the best(suited to the bike).
you can try Honda mineral oil.
Currently I am using Unicorn and used Honda Oil, Veedol Swift, Gulf Pride; Gulf pride is wonderful, Honda Oil is good, Veedol like Motul couldn't retain its effect after 1000ks.

I have one doubt regarding "gulf pride 4t plus 20w40"(blck coulur bottle if iam not wrong) could you please clarify if it is a mineral oil or semi synthetic oil........?

since you have done much kms on your odo.....i suggest you to shift to synthetic/semi synthetic oils.......as many bike users after completing some 7000km to 10000km shifted to synthetic/semi synthetic oils..uses are many..like extended oil change period...increased performance.....smoothness etc..as mentioned in some threads of this forums......please go through these eoils threads and you will get to know......

Many are preferring petronas 4t 5000 as it is less on pocket and more on good feutures...rest you search in this threads....

Gulf pride is good with my 2005 Unicorn and not Ambition, don't know why.

I think it is mineral Oil, there was no mentioning of semi synth on the bottle.

I live in a place where my options are almost zero to find a fully synthetic oil, infact when I asked for synthetic oil the shopkeepers are saying yeah we have synthetic oil ---CASTROL POWER 1. shops in my place are stocked with castrol castrol ......and castrol.
There is one shop which sells Mobil 1 synthetic oil but its label is all in arabic...so didn't buy.

@sundeep..castrol power 1 is good no doubt in that.....provided you find a genuine one....these days castrol products are the most counterfeited ones in the market....don't now which one is genuine and which one fake......so take care before you buy......castrol.....
