I agree with madhav. Go for valvoline. Even go for semi synthetics. They would be around 300 per 1L can.

In just one point i would say that you would be ruining your bike of 80K+ value for just a matter of few 100s

+1 Wouldnt you be better off spending those 100s now rather than 1000s later?

Why is it that this thread always keeps on changing its places from help me section to universal section???

because no one really wants to answer such questions. i've posted several times on xbhp on various topics in different threads and didnt get an answer. guess if you want help you have to help yourself. but the only answers you get is if the question is about tires, hid's and paint jobs! then there is plethora of help and even suggestion and "buy from me" posts. its really funny sometimes! nothing against you and some other good members, but in general.

The real problem is that no one sells fully synths at my place(not a big town). when I ask them for synthetic oil they say castrol activ is synthetic, some offers mobil 1 car oil, one says 300v 10w40 is not released yet in Andhra Pradesh..like that. since I am currently using castrolp1racing I don't want to revert back to mineral, also the guy who sold castrol racing no more sells it says no one wants to spend 750 on engine oil, also castrol bike zone was shutdown a year ago.
so I am thinking of online purchase. Any websites that sell engine oil in India? I lost my bookmarks, there is a website which sells motorcycle parts and I can't find it now.
Shell advance ultra is available but I am really dissatisfied by shell mineral that I drained it in just a week, so I am not going to buy shell again.

they dont ship outside pune?!

found another indian website. goforkrp(dot)com. but there is no online buy. you have to sent money to a bank account and they'll send the product only after recieving money, which is an unsafe method.

i own a karizma

the recommended drain period as advised by Hero Honda is 6000 km.

but i do change at every 2000 km.

when i told this to friend he told me that it is waste of money.

Why such a big company would fool its customers and it even is not making any profit by extending the drain prd of 6000km.



Please advice which is right to do?

what you are doing is right.

i would recommend even lesser, change every 1200 kms as HH oil is very thin

Oil experts, please let me know if this is good or bad for the engine.

I mean, the shopkeeper and the mechanic told me that it is suitable for the bike (15W50 Motul) but I wasn't sure.

Actually the bike manual doesn't say that you should strictly use any particular grade oil. It rather has a graph which tells which oil to use based on the climatic conditions that one lives in. If the climate is very hot like in some parts of southern India, xxW50 oil should be used and if the climate is cold like in northern India, other grades should be used.

20w 50? i dont know. these are the xxw 50 synthetics i know

motul 300v - 15w50 - rs895
elf moto 4 XT tech - 10w50 - rs750

i've used 300v and it is good. havent used elf yet.

P200 Oil Grade

Hi,

Recently when i went through the owner's manual the grade referred for p220 was 20w50w(hoping the same grade for 200 also..)..

Did a servicing @ PBK and when i checked the bill,seemed they have used 20w40w on the bike.Is it so for p200?

Any one please provide correct info..
