Stick to 20w40 or 15w40...it doOriginally posted by anush View Postthanks anyway. i think the ratio of synthetic/mineral differs in all 3
es a lot of good to the bike. Recently changed my ZMA oil to Gulf Pride 4t Plus 20w40.The bike is feeling very smooth and less noisy. When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

Hey all, this time I used Shell Advance Ultra 10W40 FS, in my honda unicorn dazzler & to my horror the oil level has come near the 'low' mark in just 2k kms
How is this possible? I was expecting this fully synthetic oil to last for @5K kms! Now what should I do? Which oil I should go for?
. I do a lot of high speed touring! Also I dont have the budget above Rs350/- from now! Yes, now I cant again risk Rs700 or so for just 2000 odd kms

1...> I will strongly suggest get Compression Pressure chked from SVC ( just in case piston rings are worn out ) and also see if any smoke is visible from Exhaust .Originally posted by amitmalve View PostHey all, this time I used Shell Advance Ultra 10W40 FS, in my honda unicorn dazzler & to my horror the oil level has come near the 'low' mark in just 2k kms

2... > i) Petronas sprinta 5000 10W30 (F.S) costs somewhere Rs.349-360 . Comes in 900ml Can .
ii) Castrol Power 1 15w40 ( S.S.) costs 300Rs / 1ltr .Its not enough to know how to twist the throttle; you must have judgement to know when and where to do it.

1..Ya i got my bike checked from SVC. There is no problem in my bike. SVC ppl told me to change the grade of my engine oil & also advised me to go for slightly thicker oil.
2.. I think, Petronas sprinta 5000 10w30 will be a very thin oil! I need a slightly thicker oil for current hot whether conditions.

Is yamalube15w50 = motul 5100
Hey all, can i use yamalube 15w50 (semi synthetic) in my honda unicorn dazzler? Is motul 5100 15w50 & yamalube 15w50 exactly the same? If yes, then why does motul costs rs450/- & yamalube cost rs415/- per lit. Is there some slight difference amongst them?
Has anyone used this yamalube in a honda or hero honda bike?

normally FS needs 2k topup and add to that shell oils are not true FS ,they are from group 3 oils. SS is best to call it.Originally posted by amitmalve View PostHey all, this time I used Shell Advance Ultra 10W40 FS, in my honda unicorn dazzler & to my horror the oil level has come near the 'low' mark in just 2k kms

Ok so i've been going through this forum for quite a while now and have learnt what i basically needed to know..
a few (
) questions though:
I own a 4000km old p220
1) xxWyy is fine when xx<=20 but is it fine if yy is >=50? Can't get this into my head!!
2) When would it be fine to shift to FS oil?
3) Motul 300V has LOTS of leakage reports here so i ruled it out.. is Motul 5100 fine? its FS too right? please do mention your opinions on the drainage interval.
4) any help on where Motul is available in Pune?
Thanks a lot!!
