To an extent, yes. But if there are some problems with the gears themselves, like worn out gear-teeth, replacing them would be a better idea.

Its the engine and not the oil

guys there had been lotza listings about head leaking problem in Pulsars with Motul 300V.
I too faced the same issue in my avenger. I got the gasket replaced in AS and the head stopped leaking.
After some 500kms the problem started back again.. Went to AS again and got the gasket replaced as well as switched to Castrol Activ extra 20W50..
To my surprise the head leaking problem is back again ! .. And this time the leaking is from the block joints also near the gear lever.

So it seems to be the crappy/immature bajaj Engine technology tagged as 'DTSi/DTSfi/OIL COOLED' ..

The only fix it seems now is neither to replace Oil or Gasket, its to replace the bike.

Yes , Indeed, to 90% surity.

I bought my bike in 2006 and maintained it like my pet, fed her with the best quality stuff available, take it engine oil(Motul), lubes(elf),polish(Sonax,3M), everything's imported.
But there is a limit to everything. "A dog made to eat stale food will never digest ghee"..

I may not sell it (due to emotional attchmnt) but I'll store it without riding it and switch to a NON-BAJAJ bike to save my a$$ from tickles due to engine vibrations..

The Pulsar engine problem has been reported by all the owners I know. And I pray for the newcomers too.

i own a 180 ug3, same to same prob. It recently surfaced again(for the second time)!! this time he put some m-seal TYPEs paste around the head where u have that rubber seal. uess wat the probikin asshole charged me 175 bucks fr that!!! the paste can be seen around the head, very shoddy job, hope its effective! but i have already noticed leakage from some other part, will check its name and post again...half my 300v just flows out man!! its hardly lasting 1k-1500kms!! for a synthtic oil thats super pathetic!! i havent changed any gasket or anything just kaaam chalaoo job yaar! donno wat to do...can anyone suggest any remedy to this other than buying a new bike!!
OT my parents are callin my bike "bakasur" kitna bhi paisa daalo koi na koi prob toh hotat hi hai!!!

, my bike LOOKS also like bakasur, its avenger..
I need not pay anything for the gasket change as I have a 5 year warranty on engine, I pity bajaj for that mistake anyways.

That rubber seal thing wont last, someone else from xbhp had tried that option long back but no luck.

Get the head welded with the block and make them "jeevan saathi"

yes my pulsar had this problem but at that time i was using bajaj show room provided engine oil..............i complaint them about head leakage........but they ignored it completely by putting stupid excuses.........then i changed to castrol power1 racing and a seal change...........now leakage had marginally reduced......but it still leaks

I own a Aug 2006 P150 DTSi. Once, I got my bike serviced at Castrol Bike World. Used Castrol Power1 for the first time at 8500kms. In no time, oil leaks started near the gear lever. Went back to CBW, there the service advisor says that its just excess chain lube! I was not satisfied by the answer since I noticed a decrease in the oil level. Hence, I went to the Bajaj A.S.S and got the oil seals changed (both engine oil seal and sprocket oil seal IIRC). No leaks since then.

@Vicky2211, the ZMA does very good on the HH (idemitsu) oil that the service centers use for 2K kms. However, you can try better oils like the YamaLube. In SemiSynth range you have Castrol Power 1, Gulf Pride 4T Gold, Valvoline Premium 4T and the one from Motul. You may even want to try the Synthetic oils like Castrol Power 1 Racing or Petronas Sprinta 4T 5000.

it's like jitna paisa utna dum.... except, I believe, for the Petronas Sprinta which is a fully Synth oil at abt Rs 330... they said they have deliberatrely priced it so low so that people try it.

Do not use any 20w50 oil. The HH 10w30 is very good and is among the best oils for Karizma. Veedol SuperSwift is a very good semiSynthetic oil for karizma (grade 10w40, which is recommened grade for zma); you also can use this.

AFAIK both are good enough, 5100 (semi-syn) runs for a good 3500-4000kms... whereas 300v (fully syn) runs good for 5000kms......

                                5100 4T costs 375rs/litre
                                300v 4T FL costs 675rs/litre
