Studds Shifter sucks. The liner has become loose and the "vent" at the rear has come off. No drops yet.

This is within 2 months of use.

Any idea about MT Thunder 3?
It's available at 5.8k. It had the thickest of padding I've ever seen. Not getting Revenge anymore otherwise it would have been a no-brainer with the 5 star Sharp rating.

I've also been suggested the HJC Cl-17 but that's 9k. Parts are also expensive if needed and not readily available.

I'm skipping HJC for the parts' cost. I've had a good experience with the shifter. That damn thing cracked and saved my head in a fatal crash.
I maybe living under a rock but MTs don't have a good repo, AFAIK and that is making me skeptical..
Revolt looks promising tho..
SOL is also an option as of now..

SOL is too noisy with those 18-19 vents. Heard the same from many SOL owners. Good for mad heat in the city traffic. But on long highway rides, it's a pain.

You considered the LS2 FF302- Hyperion? The previous LS2 352 -Atmos I had was just beautiful. Some asshole stole it. I'm also considering that. Specially since I have a 5K Flipkart voucher. 😂 A friend said that helmet saved him in a 180kmph crash.

LS2 looks promising but I'm looking for a D-Ring lock..
Some bum-hole stole my KYT and since then I'm looking for a decent D-Ring equipped helmet
I had my doubts about SOL's ventilation but am gonna dig deeper into that.. :3
I would've purchased the LS2 if it had a d-ring..

MarkNS Went to BBG, Mumbai and asked for a touring helmet. They presented the MT Thunder 3 to me. First impressions- it's very potent. The guy at BBG told me that it was a tourer's choice over the Revolt Turismo. I'm planning on buying one. Costs 5750/-
Asked about SOL, he had the same view on it being noisy, but the ventilation is good for city commutes.

After reading the comments here I am now totally confused about buying a helmet.I have always used an open face helmet.Thankfully never happened to experience it's effectiveness & I wish I never have to (Touchwood). What I like about open face helmets is that the visual field becomes much wider than it feels in full face helmet & also doesn't feel as silent as a full face helmet (I like the road noise, keeps me alert without effort) I agree that Full face helmets are safer, and besides protection from accidents it also protects against dust particles & helps to shut out the breeze whenever required which can keep us going for a longer time on rides. But would I be wrong if I remain in my comfort zone & buy an open face helmet?

Would you prefer cool breeze on broken jaw or perfect smile with little sweat while touring??
Sweat over blood or vice versa?

Ha ha ha.Sweet smile any day.Issue with full face helmets is that I feel that the visual field is narrow as compared to open face helmets.Any inputs on that? I have not used full face helmets much but whenever I did I was not comfortable.I just want to know whether I would feel comfortable inside a full face helmet after sometime & be more safe or be in my comfort zone & buy an open face helmet hoping that I would remain safe & it will do it's job of protecting me whenever it is required.

I won't comment on comfort thing because that thing comes when you use something regularly, but i can confidently say that open face helmet will not protect your face/jaw in case of crash.

Field of view is definitely narrower in full face helmet when compared to open face helmet. But you can get used to the view of any helmet once you buy and use it.
I have personally felt this when i have shifted from my old helmet to my current helmet but got used to the new helmet in few days, and will repeat the same for my next helmet too.

Or as someone mentioned have a look a modular helmets too, which offers same protection as full face helmets till the modular jaw is locked in its place.

If field of view is your primary concern then you can go without helmet(and obviously without bike too ) while going out.

Good choice. I was going to go for it, but decided to make use of my 5000 buck Flipkart voucher. That way I'm only having to spend about 2.5k for an LS2 FF302. Which, imo, is worth every buck.

I don't like the D rings. That was my I've issue with MT. I would have gone for Revenge though, if it were available.
