Thats the Vega Formula HP.Originally posted by Vishwas Bharadwaj View PostBrought a new helmet yesterday for 1200 Rupees.Wanted a LS2 but the darn thing did not fit inside my Dio's under seat storage compartment!
The helmet is a Vega *some name*
I have one too, but the ventilation sucks, & its anoying at high speeds.

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

The helmet hugs my face nicely, looks cool too!I did not notice anything which suggests that the ventilation is inadequate(may be because i do not have enough experience with it!) nor could I test it out at high speedsOriginally posted by tibby View PostThats the Vega Formula HP.

.I consider it as adequate and it comes cheap too

Its a good helmet. I realised its drawbacks later. But its well if it works for you. Its a decent VFM (Value For Money) deal.
Be careful with the visor. It gets scratched pretty easily.

LS2 is pretty good...i have black espirit model with smoked visor...vents are ok i will say...if you are moving then it is pretty comfortable, but on traffic signals it can get little stuffy in there....the fit is awesome...feels very safe...quite heavy...but manageable.......noise...willl be there...a whistling sound...not much though...on speeds above 70-80..it can be little on a higher side...Originally posted by nand15 View Posthey guys , once again my lid got stolen

It takes more love to share the saddle than it does to share the bed :)

I'm a little confused about the regular references to LS2 in this forum. As far as I know, there are several models of LS2 available. I'm not referring to the different graphic styles, but to the actual model shapes and structure. Which are the ones that are "good" and the ones that aren't?Originally posted by RanjithMN View PostGet a LS2.Vents and Noise are decent...good for its price.
References to graphics are purely subjective and a matter of individual tastes but no reflection at all on the quality or features of the product itself, right?
I have owned and used two myself, both the FF384.2 ESPRIT. ( I'm partial to white.)
Now here's the thing, I researched this helmet on official LS2 websites and this model is supposed to come with a completely removable lining - but my unit has the lining pasted to the inner styro and cannot be removed.
This model is supposed to have an internal sun-visor - my unit does not.
The LS2 website lists only one distributor in India - Vega , yet my second unit came via a very large helmet dealer based in Bangalore, who claimed to have imported the units directly. I tend to believe his claim that he did import it because the first one I bought from an established dealer in Chennai for Rs.3000/- and when I approached him for a second piece, he gave it to me for Rs.1750/-, explaining that this unit came through a different "distributor"!!
Several in Chennai XBhp are aware of this since I put them onto this new "deal" - which in retrospect I regretted later.
I am unable to compare the two units because the first was borrowed by a friend who promptly lost it (which is why I bought the second one) but I have the distinct feeling that the second is lighter, less padded and also not as plush as the first.
Now these are my questions to the forum -
1. Why are there such large differences between web-site specifications and descriptions and the products that we buy from the market?
2. Why does the price fluctuate so much? How can there be a 70% difference? Was I robbed blind the first time? And if so, why did the dealer give me a break the second time?
3. How can there be "unofficial" distributors?
4. The LS2 Esprit is retailing in a few stores in Europe for 125 Euros. Check this link - LS2 Helmen - Esprit - Glans Wit - Road Helm. How can they possibly sell it for 4.5 times less in India?
The most probable and likely answers are staring me in the face - and I don't like what I'm thinking, but does anyone have any answers/explanations that will make me feel comfortable?
I for one, will not be using my particular unit of the LS2 Esprit again till I know for sure.Last edited by Sunnyside_up!; 06-18-2011, 07:36 PM.

yes... i have seen "fake" LS2s around. loads of em.
isn't being safe better than feeling comfortable?
compare your helmet with similar ones from different stores.
