Re: Helmets
For 1500 you get decent budget helmets like Studds, Vega, and many local brands. Save some money like 5k and you get some good helmets. Or even 3.5k for that matter, you get good helmets.Originally posted by anmol_1990 View PostPlease suggest me a good helmet under budget of Rs. 1500 or preferably under Rs. 1000. The reason I asked is you've clearly mentioned "ON MY VISOR"Originally posted by Xzibit Roll View PostArey it's not the cost of the visor but of both the plastic mountings it gets attached to. BTW I had got the visor just 2days back for 500.

so it's not my fault, could have been a little clear. Even then the ratchet isn't supposed to give off just like that. Anyways you've got it changed, and that's good.
Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.
THE END

Why I am not suggesting a product in your stated range is because
1. the level of comfort in a LS2 is way better than any of the studds/vega etc and Delhi is famous for its extreme weather conditions, therefore when you are investing in a product it should serve you comfort.
2. A Karizma can easily kiss 100+ speeds and therefore you should wear something which has better noise control and exterior dynamics.
Edit: Please don't fall for a ISI helmet in the range above 1500/- ........... they have many many issues including the build quality

I don't mind spending even 4-5k for a helmet but the problem is the worry of theft. I cant take helmet withme everywhere and I can not rely completely on cable locks as well.Originally posted by xpranav View PostMy suggestion is that you should slightly extend your budget and stick to a ECE marked helmet most preferably LS2 (obviously the entry level products) .............. first pay a visit to Karol Bagh and check them out .............. then work out the difference between your current budget and expected budget (as per the model you like) ................ make sure you bargain the prices for a VAT bill ............ then come back here on thread and drop a query if you find some

but still, you can't totally keep the safety factor aside..
i myself carry the helmet where every i go.. Mate you can't look over your safety for comfort..
go for studds.. That's a good choice.. Would keep you safe in case of samll mishaps.. And won't be much painful in any theft..
Ride safe and have fun.

You sure you want safety ? Or you are more concerned about theft?Originally posted by anmol_1990 View PostI don't mind spending even 4-5k for a helmet but the problem is the worry of theft. I cant take helmet with me everywhere and I can not rely completely on cable locks as well.
I guess no mishap comes with a notification beforehand that it would be small or big.Originally posted by nadz11.ns View PostWould keep you safe in case of samll mishaps..Fare thee well xBhp, All the best for being the biggest name in corporate world

safety should be the main priority than anything else..
anmol.. You can buy a new helmet.. But not yourself.. Keep this thing in mind and then decide..
you can always carry your helmet around with you.. After a small period of time.. It becomes your habit, and you won't even notice it..
Ride safe and have fun.

@anmol.. You can buy a new helmet.. But not yourself.. Keep this thing in mind and then decide..

More than twenty years ago, when full face helmets themselves were a rarity, I used to carry my full face Vega helmet in college with me from class to class the whole day, for fear of theft. Used to cost a princely Rs.500/- in those days and I had to go all the way to JC road in Bangalore to buy it since Chennai did not have any good stores or choice. Later when I started working, my sales job meant that I did a lot of calls walking in and out of clients offices (as many as 10-15 calls a day). Carrying my helmet, gloves, bandanna and sunglasses (no tinted visors then because of night riding) every where I went became second nature to me, and soon I did not even realise this nuisance.
What became second nature to me then has translated into a life long habit that has over the years accumulated even more paraphernalia as standard equipment, such a knee guards and jacket, so much so that wearing (and carrying) all the gear all the time became normal for me. I DON'T EVEN NOTICE IT.
