Really? What about the PGS Biking gears and Mahalaxmi in K.Bagh?
I was thinking of going to K.Bagh to get a helmet.

If I know right PGS has LS2 which comes with ECE "sticker", which you can get from any other helmet shops at Karol Bagh.

Never thought i would be saying this,
here in Kerala , the cops has started to fine riders who do not have ISI certification on their helmets, so basically from law point of view all the helmets from the new vega to upwards are illegal in kerala and worthy of fine.
I mean, enforcing laws is good, but the law regarding certification is a joke, a Rs300/- helmet will easily pass of because of the "ISI" certification it has and not a 4-5k ECE or DOT certified helmet.

BTW, in kerala, riders without helmet are getting their license terminated. So things are tightening up here, some for good, some for bad.

This was happening in Mumbai a few months ago. Thankfully, that drive seems to have stopped. Hopefully, it is because the cops learnt from the protests by all the CE & DOT helmet owners. Or maybe because the anti-drunk driving drive got better results.

Did you guys do some kind of awareness program to make the cops realize it ? because we here in kerala are thinking of something in that line.
Because how can they charge us for valuing safety and investing in helmets that exceed the ISI certified limits/stress tests.

I guess a couple of reportings/articles in the newspapers did the trick. Think Harley & SBK owners also communicated to the authorities. Also, everything in India is issue-based, they focus on enforcing one thing till the next 'problem' comes along.

We can't really blame the cops, the only option we have is to put up knowledgeable counters and argue over the technical rigidity of law they are enforcing, and hope they are not in a stubborn mood. Simply, they know people in India will never learn until it's fatally late (proved by no reduction in drunk drivers caught over time), and the only benefit of their action is in catching you and earning/extracting for the government/themselves. We, as responsible riders, feel a little offended when stopped by cops but the truth remains that even after all the anti-drunk drives and cops at the signals in Mumbai, you will still see a lot of bikers break signals, weave through traffic, ride without helmets, ride 3-up etc.

I'm not sure that the cops have a real case for this because the ISI certification is not mandatory for helmets AFAIK. If it was mandatory like recently became the case with tyres, helmets would not be allowed to be imported in the first place. If the central government controlled BIS doesn't insist on certification, how can the local cops? And also AFAIK, any such moves have to have an ordinance passed to support it. Has this happened in Kerala?

Again I'm no legal expert, so maybe I should just keep my mouth shut!

It is true that few months back in Mumbai Traffic Police were going all guns on fining people without ISI mark helmet but after few Riding Clubs submitted written request to the CP and higher op's of Traffic Police division the issue has been kind of resolved...

@payeng: as you can see in my DP I am currently using THH for last 6 months or so and quite happy with the quality of the product... Model used by me comes with DOT mark

Only problem with helmet is the wind noise post 120 kmph... otherwise good helmet for city or touring use... wont recommend it for some1 who rides in higher kmph band as the wind noise can be highly irritating..

My concern is it comes only with mercury visor. Is it good for night driving?

Here in trivandrum i got a quote of INR2600 for this helmet. But, "vicky . in" quotes INR2050, drastic difference in price. Has anyone purchased from vicky . in? Is it reliable?

By the way, the shop i visited also had LS2 FF350 for 3800. Is this the actual price or is it hyped?

Vicky's services have always been a roller coster of sorts. You place an order. Later they'll mail you saying that the particular product you wanted is out of stock and they'd recommend something else. You choose something else by paying/retaining something extra and get the product you didn't want!
Best approach - ask for a full refund when they say that your wishlist is out of stock. They should mention the same on their website.

P.S - I have ordered 3 times from them. Same drama every single time. First time, I settled for a different product. 2nd and 3rd time, I demanded a refund and they shipped the exact product I wanted.
