Many many companies have facilities working out of China. Lenovo, Olympus to name a few.

SparX helmets are manufactured in China - One should look at its quality! (i use one)

my kid plays\ed with remote controlled car "made in china" - totally useless, he played with it one day, parts started falling off. :P

cross being a new brand needs to do something about its brand image,atleast they should get their websites updated,
i had a word with mr anil gupta last month when i was in pune,he`s the guy who is a dealer of cross in pune,he told me because of legal issues with the website developer they cant get their website on track,he said it will take a few months for things to get sorted out,i had asked him about the quality of cross and ls2 helmets like ece dot iso,he told me if anyone`s having any doubts about quality one can always approach the bureau of standardizations and get the products quality verified,i`m using a cross helmet since past 2 years and its quite sturdy.
also i was told that india`s biggest helmet and biking accessories store is opening in pune on jm road,some laxmi name,forgot the exact name,
i hope its true and that the showroom is ready soon,it will be a boon for pune riders to get a good choice in helmets and riding accessories

Can anyone let me know where I can purchase an original AGV helmet. I know about the Indian made ISI branded AGVs'. I am not interested in them, I would like to purchase the imported ones. Thanks in advance.

Your best bet would be to get it shipped from the US, the only issue being customs clearance. Alternately, you can also order them via the PRS guys, is what I think.

.....also the guy at helmet shop told me that they are "Made in China" thing,so i said to hell with cross, why should not i buy the LS2, ....

even ls2 helmets are made in china,but that doesnt mean their quality is bad,we have this mentality made in china means local,thats not the case,even a sony bravia or a ps3 are made in china,that doesnt stop people from buying them...

Actually, a lot of 'em are made in China. From your LS2 to my Joe Rocket. Only exception being leathers, which are made by our friendly neighbourhood Pakistan.

this is my first post here . Just bought the GS150r white and need a new helmet is same color. I've been using a Studds Bravo Decor for last 5 yrs .
What do u guys say abt Studds Scorpion Decor? My budget is only rs. 3000 and has to fit a spare visor in it.
Any suggestions on a visor that i can use during both day and night???

KBC helmets which i have seen are good quality helmets and are worth the price and price starts at 8.5k here in india..If you stay in Mumbai you can check out Performance Racing Store,they stock KBC and other helmets.

LS2 Helmets will fit in your budget with the spare visor also,you just need to bargain a little

As mentioned above tinted visor is not good for riding in night and you use spectacles so i would not suggest tinted visor for you.Clear would suffice.

While I agree with the "Made In China" analogies made above, I'm afraid the corollary is also true. In my many years of professional experience importing building products for projects, I have seen many quality products made in China being knocked off and made with much lower specs and built to a price by unscrupulous middle-men. The resultant products are much lower quality design and construction but visually identical to the original.

I've seen this not just in building products but also consumer goods and this is what worries me. A simple example is the iPhone knock-offs sold just outside the iStore in Hong Kong. Visually identical at a quarter of the price! It looks the same but is a poorly made and shabby product. The original product is I am sure of good quality but similar fakes also exist in other products too.

Anyone who has shopped in Hong Kong or Thailand can testify to Shoei and Arai knock-offs being sold at a fraction of international prices. The fake AStars we see all over are another example.

My suggestion is this - purchase your helmets and also riding gear only from authorised distributors and retailers. As far as I know KBC and Sparx only authorised retailers for India is Performance Racing Store, and they do not have many dealers. Check with them who the dealer in your city is before buying a KBC or Sparx. Just because a helmet has a popular brand name on it, doesn't make it a genuine product, so don't take chances with your money and your life. Be certain of your source. When you spend your good money on a branded product, at least be sure you're getting the real deal.

I would also advise the same with LS2, and any other international label.

Bought the SOL SF-01 Acme Green from 'Shree Padham' at GP Road,Chennai today. Tried the SL68s Dragon (Black+Orange) , kinda felt huge for my head and also that particular design didn't appeal to me much. Like the Yellow/Red unicorn model though.
New shipment has arrived today. Didn't wait for it as I liked the Green Acme model.
Mr.Prem at the shop was helpful.
Price : MRP 4996 - 250(Thanks to the tax exemption) - Store discount = Rs.4700.
Fantastic helmet for that price, Superb quality comparing any helmet at 5k range.

Tried LS2 Crown(Orange), again felt huge for my head also heavy.
All in all an excellent purchase.

Will do in few days, out of station now. Felt definitely lighter than the LS2 ,also quality wise it's far better.
Liked the D-ring buckle than the snap fit buckle seen in others.
Prem at the shop said some Orange designs have arrived targeting KTM owners , he himself hasn't seen them. It's better you call your nearest authorised store to confirm about the new models after 2 days or so. Website update may take time.
LS2 Crown comes with superb design, the best for KTM riders. Just that I liked the SOL quality more.
