FAKE? Most of the reputed brands are manufactured in China and such discussion is already made earlier. You mean those with DOT and ECE certifications are fake too? Kindly mention the sources which made you say its fake.

Dont put words in my mouth. I didnt say all helmets/ products made in Chinese factories are fake. But yes the ECE certifications are fake. That is why you find a "sticker" of ECE certification and not a proper print.

Chill Bro, All he asked was to provide others with the source which proves your claim. Its perfectly natural and normally that is what should be done.

So if you have source to back up your claims then please post it, else then just don't react to it.

        Peace.
        Cheers Mate

I think @vickks posted a fair challenge. I don't see him putting words in your mouth. Its your own words. First, You evoked the label "Fake" based on "Origin" and made a blanket statement. Secodly, when challenged, you rephrase you statement to "Sticker".

Considering there are many LS2 owners and one of the hottest brand currently, I sure people will be interested if you could shed some light with legitimate source why you say they are fake.

          • kaynmantis - Sry to say, I heard the same news on not genuine certification on those helmets & that's the reason why those helmets simply carry stickers instead of laminated certification. I certainly believe that information & leave up to the discretion of member to go with the news.

Ofcourse, LS2 could meet or exceed the purpose for which it has been made, but my objective is not to challenge, but to pass on what I heard which is no different from what Samarth2536 said.

            • Bought a LS2 Crown!

Well, well .. with so much going around LS2's genuineness, I happened to buy a LS2 Crown last weekend!

Shop: Helmet Paradise (opp Urvashi theatre main gate), Bangalore
              Cost: 2700/-
Model Number: LS2-Crown FF350 (no info on this in ls2helmets.com, 351 seem to be the latest)
Certification: ECER22-05 (that sticker in the back of the lid )
              Weight: 1350g

Other product I looked at in this store was Cross. Somehow felt very comfortable wearing the LS2 crown helmet! It fitted me very well. Also tried a black patterned LS2 lid, but went with this instead for duke.

Prior to this, I visited Orion motors (opp forum mall). Checked out kbc and few other imported helmets. Almost closing time so no one to help around. Tried a few L size's - but felt it was too tight - ear lobs were getting folded and pressed. Liked this model called "Force" but the cost was about 11K - so ignored it for now. This had a weight marking of 1450g.

This is the first time ever I'm buying a helmet so wanted to get something cheaper, which would serve the purpose with comfort. This shop didn't have LS2 at this time. Wanted to checkout LS2 before deciding on other models.

Tried wearing this as a pillion rider (lol!!) since I have never ever used a helmet. Felt comfortable for the 8km ride. Tried the ventilation near chin and on the crown. Couldn't make much difference at this time. Tried to feel any exhaust in the back of the lid (couple of them) - didn't feel much air coming out too Didn't sweat much (late evening - around 7:30pm) and felt the decibels of the traffic was much better with the helmet on. Would have liked to have the pumps which would make the helmet sit better on the cheek - but am ok for now. Went for a clear vizor - would look at tinted ones later - may be the police would go after the tinted helmets too

LS2 also had a instruction on how to choose a helmet (probably would put up in another thread) - I found it to be very useful, though its all common sense. Would definitely help a first time buyer. Saw this after reaching home - tried all mentioned there and was relieved to have chosen the right sized helmet.

For now, I'm definitely a happy LS2 Crown owner

Eagerly awaiting KTM Duke delivery this week!

Enjoy your helmet. I am wearing crown since the day I got Duked it is awesome. Try and get yourself orange gloves and you will be all set.

Relax guys. Its no point starting a debate now. If samarth can provide more details, its well and good. Otherwise I don't care if its a fake or a real one. Any LS2 you get in south India has ECE 'laminated' sticker. I just wanted to know this (post # 8098)

@venkatramanp: I got my LS2 from the same shop on 30th April. They quote real high but can be bargained! Mine cost 2400(helmet) + 450 (extra visor)!

I didnt say they are fake based on their origin. I told you they are fake period and their origin is China period. They are two simple statements . I wonder why you get so confused

What you call as a rephrasing was just addition of information.

Based on my intelligence and observations I inferred them to be fake.

                    1. They have ECE stickers unlike lamination/ print on other genuine helmets.
                    2. Quality is poor. I cant comment about the shell but the visors are of very poor quality. Also, I dont think with that kind of helmet strap locking system can satisfy ECE standards.
                    3. Many dealers are vocal about LS2 being fake.
                    4. Besides that I know how the importers work. They source products from the same factories that produce products the genuine brands. They use the same mould and dye to manufacture, and package and label it according to your needs.

Having said all this I still wish my judgement is wrong. If the helmets are fake it means many fellow riders are at a risk. I wish to reduce this risk by spreading awareness. I know even you have a similar motive.

Rest I leave it for you guys to judge what you want to wear.

Try eBay, you can find some awesome genuine AGV helmets there. Though a little pricey, do have a look at that too.

I am not from Mumbai, but maybe those who are in Mumbai can you help you out.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                              The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.
