I've used the Studds Ninja for over a year and throwed it at whatever circumstances the world could throw, performed flawlessly. In fact, held up so good for a year or so before the padding gave away (but that was due to my crappy usage I guess )

But flip ups are good for local use, not for touring. Because a full face helmet can hold up better in a crash than a flip up helmet, as a flip up is just held in place by a piece of locks. What protection would those locks have if you were to involve in a head on crash? It's wise to use a those helmets if you want basic protection and go for full face for touring and long tripping.

Not really bro. Unless the quality of the helmet is of cheap quality, locally made (unknown desi made that is ) is what you should stay clear off. Flip ups doesn't mean you're not protected. It's basic purpose is to give comfort and the adequate protection needed.

It looks pretty much like the XD3 from Arai!

      Good things
      - You can see a LOT through this! has to be one of the broadest display dimension that I have seen!
      - Adequate Ventilation (which could mean wind noise too)
      - LOVED the fit and finish!
      - The lense hardly has any distortion!
      - The Chin strip can safely house a mobilephoneHand held camera if need be :P (DO NOT DO THIS!)

Whats not so good! Tough to find but..
      - The Clips for the air vent is a bit clunky!

If you are into Rain riding, or bit of dirt riding or in any sort of riding which involves splashing mud\muck water by yourself or by others, then this is a helmet worth checking out!
Good one, Satyen. Do post your ride experience with the helmet. And congrats on you getting Leh'd

Dual sport helmet in SOL doesn't have LED lights Ameya. The LEDs come as standard in full face helmets in all models, except a particular full face model.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
      The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

I open all my helmet vents during rain for more air to flow inside the helmet and front vents to assist in defogging. So far I've never seen a drop come inside. Why don't you try pouring water on top or keep it under running tap water(slight drizzle) and see how the helmet performs in that case. (just in case)

That said, it shouldn't leak inside the helmet.

                  Cheers!

The best thing to answer that is a ride in the rain.

                        • I am completely new to selecting helmets.

Is it okay to go with Studds for my first helmet.?
They seems to have their range at the lower rates.
If not okay, suggest me some other brands that I can have a look at.

I'll be shifting to Hyd or Blr in a couple of months and planning to take my bike as a roadtrip. So, it would be better to buy one now. Considering this, Studds only have a dealer located at my reach, as for now.
The limiter kicks in @11,500 rpm just within a second after the first shift..And, that's where the fun begins !! ;)
