  • Hi Guys,
I am planning to pick Daijya G-Fit Tribal: D-220 next week.
How is the helmet? shall i go ahead with it?
Do i have any other options for 5K budget?

    Regards,
    Umesh Gawde.

i visited this showroom yesterday, its really nice. it is a branch of laxmi automobiles at nanpeth, who are the distributor of CROSS & LS2. nice collection of helmets of CROSS & LS2 and vega and few other brands also. the guy is very helpful and nice. he said he will also give some discount on MRP and if purchased in group, like 3-4 together, they can give good discounts.

i did not pursue the case as i didn't have time to do it. champion sports refused to refund. but now we have the above mentioned better option to buy helmets from.

since your remark, i was disturbed a lot. so i finally went to the above mentioned place and the guy said that they only supply helmets to "champion sports" and the helmet is indeed an original one. but nothing much can be done with that padding part.

SOL, Daijya fall in the same range, but then Daijya is a little bit on the heavier side compared to SOL. SOL isn't that heavy as Daijya, but yes SOL is a tad heavier too. SparX ranges starts from 6k on, so if you want SparX with a little extended budget of 1000k the SparX is yours.

SparX isn't that heavy, falls right in the middle category of SOL and Daijya, but not as heavy as Daijya. My best bet would be to go for either SOL or SparX provided your budget is okay with it. SOL is a really cool helmet, with sick graphics and a LED lights (personally not cool, if you ask me) but 95% would agree it's cool, and so will you.

Do give these both a try.

          Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
          The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

          • Before buying a helmet, always have a feel around the padding, check the operation of the visors, once you are satisfied then only go ahead with the purchase, cause once you leave the store no one will entertain you regarding any defects, all manufacturers have only one warranty claim and that is if there is any manufacturing defect at the time of purchase, once you leave the store even the manufacturers refuse to give the replacement to the dealers

Buddy, that's not entirely accurate. Manufacturer's warranty applies to manufacturing defect for one year/or whatever period from date of purchase of the helmet for most international brands. Of course, in case of imported helmets, you need to get the international warranty validated from the authorised dealer and the bill date serves as the date from which the warranty is valid.

That is the biggest advantage of buying from an authorised dealer and also getting the bill. Your warranty claim cannot be processed without a bill and a bill is not possible without buying from a registered, authorised source!

I've had two RJays helmets, gave one to my best friend and have one with me. Personally love the comfort they offer than my expensive AIROH!

Vineetg, what Sunny was quoting is absolutely true, but that doesn't mean all Indian brands don't offer warranty against manufacturing defect. Studds, Vega do offer warranty from the seller in case of any defect from their side. I've known a guy who changed his Studds after he purposefully removed the pads stating it was a manufacturers fault, but the poor chap replaced him with a new one. It's been one year and the helmet is still going strong.

It depends on the dealers too. Some don't give warranty, some give warranty. But anything from overseas usually give warranty 95% of the time. But only when you have to return it for a defect is when the real pain the A$$ comes, considering us paying for sending it again, and all the stuff is pretty nasty if you ask me.

Wise idea is to go for a good seller in India itself, you have tons of them.

                    Cheers!

Went to Chopra's (Karol Bagh) last Saturday & was shocked to know that the price has been increased by 1000 bucks for the helmet I needed.

He said that the model has been discontinued & this was the last piece. He quoted 3500 for this piece.

Sometime back, I guess Prateek or Pawan, can you guys help me out with this one?

                      It's LS2 Blade!

Let me make it more crisp for you.

Daijya falls in the budget you ask for, yes it's heavy and it's manufacturer source is unknown for the most parts. It's a home made brand by PlanetDSG

KBC/SparX is a tad costlier and both are available at PERFORMANCE RACING STORE

Check their website here, you have heaps of them: Performance Racing Store. HELMETS

SOL is basically a Taiwanese brand and it's very well recognized in India and offers best bang for the buck. The LED is not a disco thing, it's really a cool feature, which has five to six led dots which has a little switch which blinks(has three settings, blink, blink fast and constant) which is a feature for night riding for the people coming behind you.

RJays: An Australian brand, pretty good helmets too, but make sure you try the size before you buy, because I usually wear an XL and sent it back and got an L for myself in Rjays. So Rjays are a bit bigger on size. Price wise they start from 6000 ks but now I guess most of them are sold out. Do contact Bachoo Motors for more info; they have their contact number here. The guy's name is ZULFI.

But the price..... Someone bought it for 2600/- here in Delhi!
