Their website might not be informative or have poor info fed for many reasons, but I don't find any disrepancy in their website.

Yes that is exactly the ECE certification. So you got yourself an European Standard approved helmet, for 2700 bucks Yayyy!!!

      Plus ISO 9001 too

      Cheers!

Dude, what does ECER22-05 stand for? Especially R (Don't tell me it's for Racing like in GSX-R ) I thought it wa just ECE and that gibberish of nos. that follow.

A friend bought a CROSS- green-silver-lightgray combo (with chrome visor) but I don't recall having seen ECE + ISO certification on his lid

Even I've never seen a ECE marking on a Cross lid of all the Cross lids I've seen. But let's leave that topic.

Regarding ECE ratings, it's ECE 22.05, not ECER it's just the expansion of Economic Community of Europe rating is the most widespread helmet standard internationally, required by over 50 countries worldwide. Helmets that meet the ECE 22.05 criteria will meet the expectations of the motorcycle rider looking for more protection than the standard US DOT certification.

To keep it simple, instead of keeping our inside a unknown plastic shell, these certifications give us a reaffirmation that "we keep our heads inside a certified plastic shell"

          Cheers!

            • All the LS2s from the past 1 year I saw in various showrooms and even mine has ECER 22-05 sticker.

              • yes ls2 from the very beginning has got the ece rating, and the min rating for cross is an iso and above.
cross and ls2 are from the same manufacturing unit, hence the same reliablility,
cross is a cheaper version of ls2.
Regarding cross website, the company has some issues with the website developer regarding the domain name hence no proper website maintenance. If you are looking for an entry level imported helmet with reliability cross is a very good brand, and something more superior then ls2,and then there are other companies and the sky is the limit.
main advantage of owning an ls2 in India is that you get it at a much cheaper rate than the international market, and with the new LS2 exclusive retail outlet in Pune(the name and address will be updated on the ls2 international website by next month) customers will be spoilt for choice with a huge variety of graphics, colors to choose from, pics and more info will be put up for reference next week, cheers to all

thats because nearly all of ls2 helmets have the ece rating, and the model which you have purchased of cross company is the zebra model, which is one of the finest models from cross company.hence that model meets the ece rating
Regarding ECE or DOT stickering, some helmet companies dont laminate them, that doesnt mean that they are fake certification for the specified models,Cross and Ls2 companies are reputed helmet companies,if anyone has any doubts about the certification about a particular model, one can always approach the bureau of standardization of quality control and get it verified.

u mean to say the manufacturer is same? if yes, plz tell us the name of manufacturer..and some other details.

a few line above you said, cross is cheaper than LS2, now you are saying cross is superior to LS2, isn't superior meant to be costlier.?

                    • not having the camera handy. the helmet is 1 yr old by now. The fit and finish is fine and i have dropped it quite a lot of times without damage. the paint got some scratches, thats all.

the reason i suspect it is fake/refurbished is that the shop guy refused a purchase receipt. i did not go to buy it [kind of a gift] .

not bis,u`ll have to get it verified from the international market, first of all laws are very strict abroad for certification, hence its the manufacturers responsibility to meet the requirement,

regarding cross and ls2 being manufactured from the same unit,u can email ls2 company and get it confirmed.

i didnt say cross is superior to ls2,i said if u want something superior to cross then its ls2,read my reply above again.

regarding the website,i know all this because i`m a dealer of cross and ls2

                        • Had a small query - would there be helmets available for kids?

I have a 2.5 year old daughter and planning to take her also on the long rides - but without a helmet - definite no no...

Where can I get one for her? I live in Chennai... would be great if I can get some lead on the same...

That's a real superb decision for the very thought of making sure you're little one gets a helmet of hers. +1 personally for that.

                            Try Velavan Motors in Chennai.
                            SVM::Merchandise

Now though you can find really smaller sized helmet locally, try reaching out to Velavan Motors with your daughter so that you get her helmet size checked then and there, plus the availability of the helmet.

You might also want to PM aargee, who lives in Chennai for more info regarding the same.

                            Cheers!

                            • But still, I would say your daughter is quite young to be a pillion alone. I mean, may be, 4+yrs is better. Just my thought.

                              • So does anyone in Bombay know what's the scene with AGV lids? The sub-10k ones. They're like Elvis...everyone says they exist but no-one has them! If they're genuine, I wanna try them before 15th June (my deadline for a purchase).
Would be REALLY thankful for any info on this...thanks
