I am sooo jealous of you. I was damn confused between MetalMan, Acme red and Unicorn. I purchased Metal Man Red. But everytime I see other SOL helmets I fall in love with them. I want all the Models. Acc. to me Acme red has the best LEDs(a glowing strip) and Metal Man has the best graphics. I wished there was a combination of them

Congrats bro...whats the price of the model. I like it specially because it the first full face helmet after Daijya which has has internal visor (thast why I am interested). Where in India are they available apart from Mumbai.

I guess you wont need tinted visor since this particular model has internal visor. Me too waiting for the dealership to open in Delhi.

Actually Delhi, Patna, BBSR and Kolkatta are all on the cards. Many dealers have approached the company but SOL has a policy of exclusive resellers so they tend to take time selecting and approving the dealer. Any suggestions for resellers that I can pass on?

You can get clear/tinted/iridium visors for all 68s and 68sII models. Clear visors for the SF1 also available. Ask your local resellers to get it for you.

I was talking about Open Face Helmets. Flips Ups as you said are Confortable, have an overall protection and you can flip up for a lil comfort too.

Why don't you try pouring water on top or keep it under running tap water(slight drizzle) and see how the helmet performs in that case. (just in case)

That said, it shouldn't leak inside the helmet.

wow !! light in helmet, can we connect it to brake light wire also and have fun.

next will be indicators in helmet.

don't get angry, its a good helmet but light in helmet is a bit too much, isn't it... something like light in shoes ( for childrens).

On highways, it is a safety feature. So nothing fancy like light in shoes
Also, when you can have safety with good aesthetics nothing wrong taking it.

Helmets with indicators may be you tickled a brainstorm somewhere

Sometimes it takes a whole tankful of fuel before you can think straight.

It was not that far on the map.

helmet with indicator, now thats innovative, was just wondering about the helmets with led lights inbuilt, are they properly insulated, even a freak case of a loose wire that too on your head, won't it prove to be fatal?

LOL No at all, Vineet. The LED lights in the helmet doesn't KILL or prove to be fatal as you say. There isn't a garbled mess of wires running criss-cross along the helmet, it's all well placed in a small plastic compartment along with battery case. I mean it runs on AAA Batteries I guess, which isn't even good enough to tickle you with all it's power running through your body. I mean literally.

Need not worry about electrocution while riding.

I've attached some photos for all the guys who are asking what, how and what is LED of SOL Helmets or GMAX in US.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                          The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

The battery compartment should be accessible from the outside and in the second photo, can you see small black transistor like cylinder in the middle of the circuit board, that's the switch. It's the same as any Reset Button on a digital speedometer.

There was an Chennai/Coimbatore XBhp ride a couple of months back where the group reached the destination at night in the dark and the riders, many of whom had SOL helmets with LEDS used them very effectively to keep the group together. At other times, the lead riders used the flashing function to guide the others. Entering a strange town in the pitch dark was made easier with the lights. With my aging eyes and poor night-vision I remember being guided by younger riders who led the way for me. Also I remember our lead, SriramEfunds actually pulling over the entire group on a pitch dark roadside simply by placing his flashing Acme Red SF1 ( the very same helmet that Chicane now has) on his rear seat! Actually B7ACKTHORN, you were on that ride too if I remember correctly, weren't you?

Sealed battery compartment is accessible from outside , while the switch is a water proof sealed unit.
