On a serious note, it is atrocious that such helmets are available in the market and that unsuspecting people end up buying them.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
      The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

      • Anybody with some long term reviews on SOL helmets? I have a budget of around 4k to buy a new helmet in december.
I would rather be riding my bike thinking of God, than sitting in the temple thinking of my bike.

        • Hey you guys! I own an LS2 ff10351.75 , and unfortunately I cant find that on the website! I've had it for quite a while and it's been faithful all this time. I bought it about a year. Very stable at 1.3kg. Removable and washable inner padding. Two air vents: one at the chin and one at the forehead. They do their job only at speeds > 80kmph. Under 80kmph I sweat and get uncomfortable in it. I have to say its a really sturdy helmet of good quality. I will give two different reviews, you'll see why!

          Ride review:
Wear the helmet and its like you put on a very intelligent noise cancellation headphones. The exhaust note of the bike comes in with a deep bassy feel and that's music to my ears. But it cancels out all other unwanted noise like the very noisy lorry behind you, or the idiot revving away next to you when there's still a 100 seconds for the signal to go green. Wind noise isn't an issue till triple digit speeds. At about 104-105kmph you start hearing this really weird whistling that messes with the exhaust note. That's my only issue. Visor quality is top notch.

          Accident review:
Figured I'd write this here as not everyone can write it, but it would help buyers if they knew real life performance of the helmet they're going to buy in the situation it is meant to be used for. Hope it helps.
About a month ago I had a cornering accident, and I had a fall from a height of ~10-12 feet, went sliding for about 10 meters. I managed to break the visor and a couple of ribs. But there's not a single scratch on my head, no bruising, lumps, cuts or concussions. The helmet is also in one piece, albeit with tons of scratches, some missing stretches of paint and a hard to close chin ventilator. I would recommend the brand to anyone, as the fall I had wasn't an ordinary jump and roll. I was thrown off my bike at about 70Kmph and the distance figures are already up there.

It is very VFM priced at 2.7k(I got it at about 1.8k because I haggle very well and the shopkeeper was a greedy pig).

I also own a pair of Pro-Biker riding gloves. A steal at 500 bucks.

          Ride review:
They do their job well. Hands are kept well ventilated while riding. Grip on the handlebar is very nice. They dont hamper my finger movement. They look good!

          Accident review:
I was wearing these too during the accident. Have to say I had hoped for better cloth fabric quality. My hands are perfectly safe and not one scratch on them save for one place. The one place i got a cut wound was the place the fabric ripped open. It wasnt even the stitches of the fabric that came off. It was ripped open by the fall. But the rest of the gloves are intact and the hard knuckles did their job spot on. The gloves also have taken quite a beating. So I have to say, I'm happy with it for the price I got it at.

VFM pair. But would suggest going for a better pair if you can afford it.

          Hope this was helpful.

+1 to the quality of LS2 helmet. I have been using one for nearl two years now and have crash tested it. Thankfully my crash want as horrible as yours. Point to be noted is that my LS2 has served well and continues to do so. A cracked visor and a scratch is all that the helmet suffered but kept me completely safe and without a single scratch. Anyone planning to buy a LS2, Just go for it. Its totally VFM.
Just flick the switch and twist my wrist
The beast comes alive, bringing me back to life
A tap to shift and flick of the wrist
The beast takes flight bringing me back to life
Kill the silence, tear apart the dark
The beast rips the road, hell yeah, i feel alive.

If you look closely in any crash most helmets' visors are the first thing thing eithrs chips out or breaks into pieces or comes off as one piece completely, in any helmet, some times it does, sometimes it doesn't.

Regarding the value part, absolute +1 at that price point, it's just an awesome helmet.

Ribs are healing. Yet to get a new visor for the helmet. Using dads in the mean while. now, I was going over the helmet again. I figured I'll clean the inner pads. When I removed the pads, I noticed, the inner thermocol shell has a slight crack. Can I continue using it?

That's cracked? :O Is it chipped or CRACKED clearly? If it's cracked the helmet has done its job of transferring the impact energy around your shell perfectly. I'd suggest it's time to purchase a new helmet. Moreover, once cracked and once it's involved in a significant incident it's a wise idea to get your helmet changed. If you keep using the same helmet and you have a crash to the level you had now, you might get serious internal injuries with or without the helmet.

                  Cheers!

It's hard to pinpoint SOL reviews bro, it's like asking a particular word in a particular page in a 1000 page book. I'd advice, go to Google, search for sol reviews xBhp, that should help.

When I removed the pads, I noticed, the inner thermocol shell has a slight crack. Can I continue using it?

The EPS liner in a crash helmet is designed for one crash use only. If you have had a significant crash with your helmet, thank God that it did its job and retire it. Please pick up a new helmet . On track, Marshals will confiscate and destroy any helmet that has been involved in a crash, irrespective of visible damage - that's how critical it is.
