My Bell RS-1 Emblem Helmet
You all must have seen the earlier pic that I posted for my new Bell Helmet. This is a short review for the same.
Name: Bell RS-1 Emblem
Price: $ 399
Additional: $ 39 for the Black Visor. Helmet ships with a clear visor.
What else in the box: Warranty card (5 years), Helmet cover and a few Bell Stickers.
How did I get it? : My relative from the US got it for me.
Where did I buy it from? : Motorcycle Superstore
First Impressions:- The helmet looks pretty compact when compared the the pics that you might have seen on the internet.
- Fit and Finish are of a high order. No ragged edges and the cheek pads and internal mesh seem to be easy to remove and clean.
- The visor is an easy affair to remove and fit. I managed to remove the earlier one and put the new one in under a minute.
- The helmet looks the best with the black visor
- Double D Ring retaining mechanism with a magnetic trap to hold the strap.
- Three vents operable via a slide control; one on the chin, one on the forehead and one above that.
- A mechanism to keep the visor locked on the left side. Proved pretty useful.
I went out for a ride yesterday with this new helmet and checked on the other parameters. My impressions are as below
- I ordered a size S (55-56). It proved to be a bit tight initially but as the went along it was ok. I think people can order one size larger if they want. This one fits really snug.
- Ventilation is amazing. Open the vent and you can feel the flow.
- Visor does not fog up like my KBC
- Wind noise is present in some patches but at speeds around 150-160, the helmet is pretty silent (more than my KBC).
- Helmet feels light and can be worn for long durations without feeling the pinch.
- The graphics make it quite a head turner.
Now the most important question, why Bell? Answer is simple, I always wanted a bell helmet as they make some of the safest helmets in the industry. More so due to the fact that this is SNELL M2010 compliant.
I shall be glad to answer queries on this helmet. Images attached below.Never argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.

So here are the pics of the helmet.
First I was gonna buy the LS2 cartoon 2 helmet But this one with the U.S. Army graphics caught my eye.
Went for 500+ Km ride on saturday. Different aspects
1) I went for size L. Comfortably tight fit. ( with bandana)
2) Helmet is light in weight, so wearing it on long rides not a problem at all.
3) Wind Noise negligible till 100-120. anything above 120 gave a decent wind noise.
4) Good ventilation.
5) Big Visor gave good view. but it fogged a few times through the ride.
6) The padding inside is easy to remove and so is the visor.
Got two LS2 stickers, a manual, a LS2 sling bag .. found it amazing to carry the helmet around. No need to keep your hand busy
Visor available for 450/- Everywhere else I checked this same helmet was selling for 3000+ bucks because of the increase in the existing price of helmets.

Niranjan, first off, congrats on an uber-cool helmet. I am not gonna delve into BELL's heritage, it's proven its worth. What can I say, well, you zeroed in on every points I was yet to ask. And honestly, the FIRST PIC above I've quote is pure ORGASM man. If you can post a photo of the interior of the helmet that'd be appreciated a ton!! KUDOS again!Originally posted by niranjanvaidya View PostYou all must have seen the earlier pic that I posted for my new Bell Helmet. This is a short review for the same.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

two more points
1)visor has 3 way lock mechanism
a)lock
b)slit open for ventilation - rest locked
c)completely unlocked
2)if you open the cheek pads you will see a brilliant design to snugly fit in speakers of scala rider or such similar equipment
As regards to quality be rest assured of a 3 year life easily without any degradation in fit & finish toosigpic

Thanks Bro. Actually DOT has always been the most dicey rating for me but SNELL has been talked about in a good way in most biking circles worldwide.Originally posted by Sunnyside_up! View PostI have my own reservations about the Snell standard but that is one cool helmet! Congratulations buddy!

FF358 for 2650?
Originally posted by antz.bin View PostLS2 FF350 is the bare basic model with smaller air vents, unremovable padding and no air pump.
LS2 FF358 has those features listed above. The price difference is between 400-500. Since I also had a budget of 3k, I opted for the one with the air pump since at Rs.2650, it nicely fit my budget with cash to spare to buy the clear visor (since it came with a tinted visor)
.
Hey hey antz.bin
Please share where you got the FF358 for 2650.00 , I wanted to get one.
Thanks.

Guys, pls share the dealer details
I am wanting to get an M size (hopefully thats an actual M size and not L size with bigger paddings)
Here, in hyd.. everything is either L or xL and they say get extra padding if you want M size? .. I'm like what!! .. the helmet looks huge on my head.
My current MotoCross helmet is also L size with new bigger paddings.. still snug fit .. but im sure it'll get lose anyway + yes it looks a bit big on my head.

Not available in India. I got mine ordered in the US and a relative of mine got it with him when he came over recently. Cost in INR = 438 X 53 (give or take a few).Originally posted by shahbaz63 View PostBELL Helmets available here in India ? I am also thinking of asking a friend to pick up one from US. Could you tell me the exact details how your friend/relative got it. I mean across customs and did he/she had it as carry on or booked luggage. Did the custom officer ask any questions?Originally posted by niranjanvaidya View PostNot available in India.
