KBC VR series is SNELL compliant and in no way is an inferior helmet. The only issue is spare visors...and those are hard to come by. Some of those who got the SOL have reported that the fit is fine but the helmet is noisy.Originally posted by Abhishek2255 View Post

Andrea Iannone special helmet. NiceOriginally posted by akshayhonda View PostAfter a very careful decision I finally decided & got home the Airoh Pit One XR Andrea Iannone Replica Helmet from Bachoo Motors. I have been a loyal customer of Mr Zulfi and Im still using & very happy with my RJays Octane Jacket and RJays Higway boots.
The fit of the helmet is really precise & snug. Did not try the helmet before getting it. My Daijya Dragon Helmets size was L based on which I went ahead and got the Airoh in L.
I have still not tested the helmet. Will do so this Sunday over a 500+kms ride and then will post an initial impression review of the helmet. By the looks the fit & finish is really good and the unique florescent based graphics are mind blowing. The dual visor system is much batter then the one on my Daijya helmet (No optical imperfection seen)
I have also posted a pic of my 3 prized helmets (P.S: The one with Shoei written is a stickered Cross Dragon Helmet)
Stay tuned until I post the detailed review. Ride Safe & Cheers
How much did you pick it up for?Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

How do I decide which one to go for.!
What shall I be looking for in a helmet which is to be used only and only for touring purposes ?When life gives you Yamaha, make it RD350 not R15. :D

Be it touring or daily purpose.Originally posted by Abhishek2255 View PostThis is so confusing!

There is always the need of :
Not light-weight to fly with air on high speed.
Not too heavy to stress on head & neck.
Proper Air Ventilation is more needed in touring as you're going to wear it for long time.
Proper viewing angle's (sidewards).
Good Visor that does not make you blind when in night when some light reflects on it.
Adjustable cheek pads, in short, In Which You Feel Comfortable.

Not really. These helmets are more or less, "cat on the wall" sometimes you get really good (most of the times) but at the same times there are tiny quality glitches which are overlooked. And there is always a price equation, even the best have the defect but to ratio of defective pieces to the helmet sold is lesser on higher priced helmets than cheap helmets, at in my opinion.Originally posted by itsmevini123 View PostThe quality of LS2 helmets is really decreased now the days, I have to tighten the crew regularly otherwise they will get you in trouble on ride....
That real cool, Akshay. Please do post some photos of the interior if you can a detailed ride review. Nope, a helmet will not degrade from not using nor does the cheek pads become flaccid. Fact is will get dusty and after a while it will start emitting some foul odor if it's used and never take care of, it's even worse in helmets in which cheekpads aren't able to removed.Originally posted by Kunwar.g View PostQuestion of a different kind --
Bought 2 CROSS Helmets a couple of,months ago. For self and better half. However, the other one has not been used yet and have tried reasoning a lot but she would only want an open face helmet as she feels claustrophobic in closed face one. She has not been on any ride with me other than within city.
Question is should I keep the other unused brand new helmet for once in a while ( read max 1nce in a year maybe) usage for her or try to sell it, cause the cushioning and shell might just degrade sitting in shelf without any usage ?

If you can remove the cheekpads, then there is nothing to worry at all.
Now coming to the issue of your better half, why don't you take her for some helmet shopping, perhaps, she just didn't like this helmet's fit and feel. Try advising her the uses of full face than a half face. And I'd suggest you do the same I mentioned above to see some different full face helmets or modular ones for dual purpose. Make her wear some helmets (full face) and try finding in which she is comfortable, there should definitely be one.
Also as a thought, try going for helmets with good peripheral vision, most poor quality helmets have poor peripheral vision (the ability to see till the corner of the eye both sides) because she might not felt comfortable with Cross, but there are good helmets out there with good PV just for the sake of this.
Do let us know which helmet you zeroed in on.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

This is the exact helmet, exact color, exact decal helmet one of my friend has. Really really VFM. Nice, please do post a review. I've advocated a lot of times to people who are planning to get an entry level helmet to get their hands on a helmet like this.
Cheers!

thanks B7ACKTHORN for the clarification as always. Well all I can say is that will have keep pestering on her safety to use it. Well I did one thing right, I had taken her to shops before getting the helmet, because I wanted both to wear the same graphics. She liked CROSS over LS2 (which I liked). My preference of LS2 was just cause of dark color of inner fabric, less cleaning. Will surely post some pics soon.Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostNope, a helmet will not degrade from not using nor does the cheek pads become flaccid. Let me clear the air there mate, you had got your answers, hence i din't chip in with my suggestion, to avoid the multi post, and by no means was i calling your questions weird, agreed i should have phrased the point better myself. I was referring to the thinking thought of the cops to pull over someone just for having flashy gears.Originally posted by Harish Menon View PostI don't wish to drag this on by trying to write more on this...I will end this (atleast by my side) by saying its my opinion (opinion: thinking cops will stop me if i wear flashy helmets) and if you don't like it...you are more than welcome to ignore it
..I am here for helmet advice (which I was asking and was replied to "fruitfully" until this ) and I respect all of you but I would need a reply on things I wanna know about not about anything else...and I am glad to post replies on things I want to help people out on...not something that only waste people's time
Cheers!
And as far as wasting time is concerned Members are more than welcome to skip a few random posts if they wish to on finding it irelevent, its an open forum where one can express his/her views apart from the strictly question/answer sessions, i intent to use that as much as i can. No offence meant to you on this mate.

@Offtopic
I stay with 1 room-mate here in mumbai.
Getting random unknown calls on MTNl landline phone many times always the same.
Asking for some "Sameer Bhai" and calling from "Bachoo Motors". Maybe the same ?
@Helmet topic
My classmate own's a CROSS helmet some 3-4k range helmet (Don't know the model).
He had a Chrome finished Visor and that's clear now, he said Chrome came out in patches.
Is it gonna happen with LS2 also ? :OFirst I was Scared But then We Made a Deal

My LS2 is having the chrome finished one too, has many scratches to it within one year, had a fall a few months back and a small patch has been scrathed off, but till date, no flaking off has taken place, IIRC we have no reported case of the chrome flaking off here in this forum too. So my suggestion is, no need to worry about that as of now, if you can maintain the visor perfectly , then it's nothing to worry about.Originally posted by Sird View Post@Offtopic

There is a USP in Cross, Cross weighs a tad less than the LS2, which is boon for wifeys, if you ask me. Reason being two, the heavier the helmet, we can handle it, but feeble creatures like ladies, they just don't like something dangling on their and sooner or later in a long trip, she's gonna complain about neck pain. I'd suggest make sure she gets the light weight one, her choice of course, and a certified one.Originally posted by Kunwar.g View Postthanks B7ACKTHORN for the clarification as always. You should prank him, Sameer was just now in my pocket when you called, but unfortunately he' currently unavailable.Originally posted by Sird View Post@Offtopic

But you can always cross question them about who gave this number etc. One reason is, if your number is of the fancy kind, then there is a very good chance you might get prank calls. My GF had the same issue (fancy number) all random calls from all random persons, even had a big argument over it, but she had a point. Beeeg story.

It's inevitable, there is 90% chance that the silver visor will get blotches either sooner or later, happened in most of my buddies' LS2 helmets.
Best of luck.
After bashing my RJays helmet with silver visor, both the visor and the helmet are going strong. Not even a single blotch, been two years.
P.S. Sird, congrats on reaching your bike CC level on your posts.

Cheers!
