How good are these entry level helmets from Cross for street riding??

I am planning to buy this one

Entry level Cross helmets cost from 1900 to all the way upto 4k and the high end ones are comparatively good than most Indian helmets. I'd suggest go for it or LS2 purely in the price range.

How is wind noise on the SOL helmets? Im looking to pick up a sol sf-1 in a few months, whenever i drop down to chennai. I know that wind noise has been discussed before in this forum, just looking for user reviews here

my ls2 FF350 is quiet until 80kmph. Beyond that, noise levels increase rapidly. Other than getting a new helmet, will have to start plugging in the earplugs on highways for now.

BTW apart from SOL, try TIH helmets too. They are good. In economy level too.

m getting this helmet in 1.5k from my sources
LS2's are twice as costly s this one..& btw I have other helmets as well..I just want a light & a medium/smaller in size Helmet with decent safety

I am using ff384.71 iron for the past 2 months. The wind noise is negligible post 60. After 80 it increases but still it's not disturbing. Haven't gone above 100 so can't comment. However I feel a little suffocated inside the helmet and keep minimal opening in the visor. But this issue is only at low speeds not when you go above 60. So I'm quite satisfied with both the looks and comfort of the helmet.

Wind noise is almost given in any helmet Eugene. Almost most LS2 helmets do whistle above 90 and some even at 70 from what I've worn and experienced.

Mine does not have an inner visor.
Only a single visor is there which I changed to tinted ones. Also is there a way to get the inner visor installed on my helmet

@chotu_r I use one from TiH and I'm quite content with it. Got an inner visor too and the air flow is decent. It cost me only 3.2K INR and considering other options it's dirt cheap with a sturdy shell and snug fit. Graphics are not as good as the SOL ones, but I'd say is better than LS2. They sport reflectors mounted at the back end and if needed the visors are easily replaceable as they cost much less than LS2 and SOL. The visor lock is very good option in these if you are riding at high speeds. See one for yourself and try it on before you buy one. These come in only one size, universal, AFAIK.

Their range starts from as low as 1.5K if my memory serves me right.

SOL is not noise proof either. I've tried the SOL 68S and SII both whistle at the same speed 70 KPH and above, but with a little crouching the noises do get a little low.

Absolutely. But personally, the quality isn't that great on what Cross offers on low end of their range. But it's good to consider a helmet than a "bucket" any day, I always say.

Have never heard of TIH helmets, but would surely consider them if the dealer is in Hyderabad. Since i already have an LS2, i would like my next helmet to be a step up in terms of quality & features if possible. I guess i can assume that wind noise on an sf-1 would be pretty similar to that on sl68 also...... shell shape doesnt seem to be too much different.

On another note, i have hunted at almost all helmet shops here for a size 'S' helmet. checked out volga, vega, studds, ozone etc all brands which are available in local stores. No one stocks a size S . Could lay my hands only on a 'Square Cut' which looks so shoddy that i cant recommend it to anyone! Any other options, online or otherwise which might be available?

although I have not used a TIH, but in case you need to work out their dealers in Hyderabad, you may try the contact details here which I just found out THH helmets contact info and made a call to the guy ........... and yes it is true that their range starts from as low as 1500/- .............. but feature wise competent helmets start from 3250/- as was told to me by the marketing guy

On the LS2 site it says so

I know, even I was baffled when my friend showed me that. But I have a LS2 2013 range brochure(more like a whole book) which the dealer gave me. It doesn't have any mention of dual visors

Dual visor make noise at high speed in LS2 Helmets, because extra airflow comes from dual visor mechanism switch at sides of helemet..... i am using LS2 FF396 CT2. it is with dual visor. It makes a turbulance noise after speed of 100 Kmph. If i try to close the dual visor switch with hand or tape the turbulance noise is less. Using earplugs while touring is best option i found.

They recently made their way into the Indian market. I think I'm among the few guys in my place, may be the whole KL, to own one. I bought this one because I liked it better than LS2 in its range and it has dual visors.

Wind noises are there on every helmet when you are cruising in upright position after a certain speed limit. I tried crouching ad this noise was almost non-existent with my helmet. What you need to look out for, though, is for the whistling sounds like what VJ said. These whistles can make you lose your sanity at high speeds.

Whatever you buy make sure you are comfortable wearing it and it's not a bucket on your head.
