Sir, with all due respect, I was not making fun of or blaming any law/standard. With all the hefty earlier discussions in the thread, I can understand your cause and I respect that. All I meant was that they could have done some research while coming up with the law; then again, there are many such laws! I do not intend to downgrade ISI helmets, but everyone here know the facts - whom are we tryin' to fool?!! I do not claim my post to be healthy but it did not convey anything wrong either.

Not all ISI helmets are bad Mate.
I met with an accident at speed of 70kmph and survived wearing a ISI marked helmet, fell on face first.
Guess which helmet was i wearing? Vega MX. Not a scratch on my face/head..
Well, i decided to get an Ls2 after accident. (got the safety conscious thing)

People tend to call Vega helmets as Buckets, they are not really like that.

Not everybody would like to shell out 2k+ on a helmet eh? For them these ISI helmets do serve the purpose.. I beleive, "Genuine" ISI helmet are good enough for the speeds at which most of the Indians drive. (Max 80kmph)

For people driving 70/80kmph+, thats where ECE and DOT is recommended.
      (Well, thats what I believe)

Come on bro, just drop off this off, these people don't understand, they keep saying the same thing and @chaosaddict if you don't trust your country's products then how can you blindly trust products made from other countries and go back a few pages and you'll know about the Indian standards too. . .

(PS: Just stop these discrimination of our Indian products with that of foreign products, whatever you say, at the end, "YOU LIVE HERE IN INDIA"). I think that's enough. . .

          Cheers!!!

Btw, do we get genuine visors for FF350 at JC road? If not JC road where else would we get it?

Nice, mine is white with same graphics.
I am not sure about genuineness but you can try some of the following places in Lalbagh road - Adeshwars Auto zone, Balaji helmet palace, Helmet paradise and Tirumala pitstop in the junction between LB rd & double rd(below overbridge). Tirumala should make your buy easy. My visor is in a bad shape too but I keep cleaning it every other day by wiping with a soft cloth & plain water.
Problem is - reputed shops here, mostly do not sell LS2, hence the hesitation.

NO, all i was trying to convey was that ISI marked indian helmets are not bad, and do their job well, specially brands like Studds/Vega etc, so no need to portray that they are watermelons...

i will quote myself ... from this very thread, from the same discussion .....

TUZO is basically a brand from UK, and one of my dear friend has the jacket of the same make. TUZO, personally the fit and finish is next to DSG, and there is tons of improvements to be expected in every crevice of the jacket. But helmet, as Sunny pointed out rightly, even some of the reputed brands are all sweatshopped in same factories with the same personnel. It's just how much the manufacturer is willing to throw in for the quality of the product he manufactures.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Most of the helmet visors of LS2 are ratchet type locking mechanism which most of the helmets. But there are different varieties of the visor namely, like in the FF series where there is knob like handle and a clear O cavity at the sides which in and of itself refers to different helmet models. But most of the visors with the ratchet tooth on the insides of the sides of the helmet fit most LS2 helmets.

Take your helmet for example, the visor has the ratchet tooth inside the sides of the visor where the ratchet mechanism fits with the helmet, this is the guide point to remember.

Very true,, Bangalore crowd is really inquisitive. I'd prefer carrying my helmet around rather than getting unwanted scratches

I got my LS2 'Lunatic Fringe' for 2400/- INR form Adeshwar. Price seems to have gone up.....

PS/Sad Part - Now that Sunny Sir has pointed out the fraudulent character of Adeshwar, I feel really bad to have bought from him No wonder, I did not see any SOL there. Helmet Paradise always sounded fraud. The Balaji guy behaved as if he is running a school/college, @#$*
can you elaborate more on the experience of the various shops.

LS2 helmets are a brand made by a company called MHR helmets in china ( which makes sparx , kbc hjc etc) .
on lalbagh road everyone keeps ls2 helmets but the only shops who have and give after sales service are megha enterprises , rydercity , helmet paradise and balaji palace)
the price of ls2 on lalbagh road is 2600 and above depending on various factors .
the said place opp megha is not a dealer and they buy from above helmet stores and sell .
AND IF LS2 IS MADE IN INDIA IT WOULD HAVE AN ISI , IT HAS A ECE ( EUROPEAN ) STANDARD .
I understood about my mistake regarding country of production. Also I can wonder what kinda service I will get from a shop whose employee lies during the sale

We should not make fun of them, we should update them totally. ISI doesn't come close to internationally acclaimed standards. Also I have seen helmets with proper ISI mark whose quality of material are just terrible. Those things could never protect a head.

Being best is not about beating everyone. It's about how much you learn from others and make yourself even better
