Well guys luckily i am travelling to Pune on 2nd october so i can avoid the hassle of buying online and can try before buying. I checked out the thread that mentions shops in pune, but there was no mention of which brands are available at which shop. I want to buy the SOL helmets specifically the SL68s Dragon, where can i hope to get it in pune? Also for a budget of around 8k are there any better full face helmets to be had?

Thanks B7ACKTHORN!
Thats what I wanted to know that if those larger vents on th 68S cause any trouble.
Thanks Pranav!! Was planning to pay them a visit!Originally posted by xpranav View PostPlease go to Meandering India to try them in person. Please find contact details here http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/universa...ies-india.html
You have summed it up for me!!Originally posted by snehithpereira View Post@SDS17, I use the the SOL Dragon, personally I was interested in the sf1 (the inner sun shade visor appealed to me) but lack of availability and my urgent need gave me no option other than the Dragon, and except for the flashy nature of the helmet I got no issues with it.
I just used the very same helmet on a 2.3k kms tour and I found no major issue with it
, there is a whistling noise post 80kmph but its very manageable. Very stable at high speeds too. I did an entire 65km stretch at 120-124 without any trouble. The ventilation is superb, not once did I feel suffocated.
Do let me know if there is any other specific thing that you would like to know, would be glad to assist
No more querries.
Will purchase within a few days and post!
Thanks brother!

By looking at the "contact us" section of the SPG web, I can say that it is yet to recruit a re-seller in Pune. Hi.
Well,we can fix an anti-fog film on visors which don't have pin-locks available. But,the film sticks on the visor and is a bit hard to remove.Unlike pin-lock visors where one can fix the anti fog films and then take them out when not required. It comes from a brand called FOGCITY.

Re: Helmets
@snehithpereira
Im back with a query. I visited Meandering India today, checked out the SL 68S and the SL 68S II. They had very little options, dint get the colour schemes I was looking for.
My query is that, what size should I go for? They only had the "L" size for the SOLs. It had a decent fit, but I could move it up and down slightly using my hands. It also moved a slight bit if I shook my head. They had an "M" size in NUVO. I tried that on too and it was pretty tight. Not unbearable, but could have been annoying if I had kept it on a while longer. I guess I'll have to book to make them order one for me. Don't know what size I should go for
. The "L" is not as loose as the "M" is tight.
And yes they also had the SF-1, its really interesting. I wish it came in Matt black. Its there on the SOL official website, but don't know why doesn't SPG offer that one. Really liked it.

Re: Helmets
I think if you try to move the helmet with your hands, they will move.. There is no 'perfect' size.. As you yourself said, M was much tighter and that would irritate you while riding.. Sweat would increase this discomfort.. So better go for L size.. And with the chip strap on, it would sit fine..Originally posted by SDS17 View Post@snehithpereira

Re: Helmets
About the sizing well, no one out here can tell you which one to go with, it's completely based on how it fits you and your opinion of the fit. Generally you wouldnt want your helmet to shake unless you do so, so if its moving when you just move your head up and down then that's a bad fit. You could try using the L shell with M size padding, might help. Keep in mind the balaclava, if you use one. Make sure the helmet is a snug fit along with it.Originally posted by SDS17 View Post@snehithpereira

Also you can know for sure that a SOL size M would be too tight only after trying a SOL size M, every helmet is made differently and so it's best you try the helmet you want to pick up, to judge the size than set a benchmark by trying some other brand.
About the SF1, yes it is interesting I would have picked it up if it were available, no matter the color, but you please consider your preferences

Re: Helmets
Helmets should always be a snug fit. Never even slightly loose. It might make you uncomfortable for the first couple of days, but it'll become second nature after that.

Re: Helmets
Just a little pointer, though others have summed it up beautifully. Sizes aren't the same in helmets, even the best helmets of the same size doesn't fit one's dome. I usually wear a L but he AIROH for example, which I bought an L but that was enough to suffocate (XL would have sufficed here) and the darn thing *assists* me bite the inside of the cheeks which means the padspresses against my outside cheeks so hard that I bite them hard on the inside. Ouch!Originally posted by SDS17 View Post@snehithpereira

But it has not set it, but after a month or so of repeated usage. Too tight is a big no no, SNUG fit is the idea here. Your helmet shouldn't move around your head more than 1.5mm which I'd personally suggest, after the helmet is strapped on your head anything more you have the wrong size which means it just isn't fit around ones head.
So I'd suggest try out different helmets before zeroing in on the helmet size of same brand or different brand.
Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.
