If you looking at any HJC helmet above CL16 series they are lighter than Sparx, KBC, Airoh street series..

Me too love HJC lids right now saving for Green Mamba replica which will come in market soon...

bought a sparx s07 pow.from the vendor at edapally,cochin.4.9k.not much in discounts.no freebies no nothing.not even a balaclava, pathetic.sales staff uninterested.they are unaware about warranty given by spg for helmets and apparels and even different colour options or features.much less the owner who was busy it seems.a take it or leave it attitude.compared to this the experience at autoqueens while shopping for helmets was much better.anyway the helmet was an impulsive/emergency buy.

the helmet.
1.build quality+++.
better than equivalent priced sol models.paint feels great.the pictures do not do the piece justice owing to my poor photographic skills coupled with a four year old galaxy s.
2.wind noise+.
becomes apparent even at 60kph.ya,supplied earplugs will solve this but still at this price.
3.fit++++.
snug and right.not suffocating.cannot comment about ventilation yet.no fogging issues as of now.not much in ports;just the two in front.
4.no idea where to put the stickers that came with the helmet.
5.those vents/ports in the visor might be trouble come rains.
6.at this price range i definitely recommend this.wanted the plain sol ss1 but was out of budget+uninterested shopkeeper.everything including this helmet is made in china too.

can we use wax for the lid part.or any suggested items to keeps the helmet shiny like new?surely there must be something for protecting the paint.seems the shopkeepers used to for keeping the helmets shiny(not the visor)

Almost all helmets are made in China and would you surprised to know if I say quite a few famous brands re manufactured in same house, in China with different molds. All said and done, if you can spray clear coat (use under your own discretion) because solvents that aren't approved for proper helmet can hamper the structural integrity. If you can use a clear coat then it's okay just for that glossy shine, which the helmet manufacturers use too for that glossy shine.

But that can be done not a new helmet, except your helmet is really effed up and in need of a coat.

Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

I am surprised you had a bad customer experience from DJ ? You got it from DJ right ? Neither me or any other Kerala xbhp members have had such a experience and i am a frequent customer there.
Now about freebees, I don't know what you were expecting , but extra set of ventilation flaps and ear plugs are indeed extra. Even SOL doesn't supply earplugs with their helmets now is waht i heard(Sunny sir, could you please confirm this ?) and the price point being same.

Yes, it is manufactured in china, like Vijay said, most of the helmets apart from the Italian brands are made in china. Doesn't necessarily mean they are bad, I am not implying that you said so, so no offense.

2) About wind noise, do check the position of the visor, if it has been properly fit, when i got my sparx , the visor was not properly locked in, so just pop out the visor and re-fit and check, but then again those de -fogging flaps do reduce the potential of the noise reduction, hence the ear plugs.

3) I would agree , it fits exceptionally well and the ventilation is good too(using for 3 months now on daily basis). Never faced fogging issues even with visor closed in heavy rains, the flap works very well.

4) Haha, me neither. It is still with me inside my table drawer..:-P

5)No problem in rain with the flaps, unless it really falls at a weird angle, i say so because once i had a drop of water fall inside when i was stand still. Never a drop of water got inside when i was riding or in other conditions other than that once incident. Rest assured.

6) Indeed it is a good buy. I would also agree with you on this.

And for keeping it shiny, don't go for any solvents that might compromise the structural integrity.
What i do is that each day i rub it down using a wet tissue paper and then clean it dry with a dry tissue paper. Stay as clean and shiny as the day i bought it. Same for the visor. Do not use colin or other cleaners as the scratch proofing quality of the visor will be lost, so i have heard. So i use only water.

Hey, this turned out to be a mini review of the sparx helmet.!! I own the buck king version btw.

Believe things would hve been better with the shop owner present.

@senotrius you got that lid for pretty dirt cheap price man.
2). Also, yesterday at a shop here in ghy I tried the Studds Ninja 3G (It's around 20-30% more compact than my large Steelbird SB-18 XL helmet) XL size & it fits me perfectly. Does a SOL or a sparX have the same fit (for XL size)??

Congrats bro!!!!

I too have the same helmet. Got it for 4500 bucks. It fits beautifully. Love it. The vents are good as are the paddings.

The stickers I got are also lying at home. Can't find a place to put them.

Just one suggestion to all Sparx users. Get yourself a spare visor asap. When you might need it, it won't be available. I got myself a black visor after following up for more than 6 months. Also if it helps, sparx visor cost 800 bucks in Delhi.

Performance Racing Store doesn't stock SOl/sparX. Stocks only HJC. & that too 10k+. lol

& regarding SPG, my heart is set on a sparX Paw/Hornet. I haven't received their reply yet though. I don't think they stock sparX. Do they?

Different helmets have different fits, just for example an Arai would fit an big head whereas a Shoei would fit a narrow slim face, and most of the times, a helmet's fit narrows down to the size of their cheek pads, and the shell. What comfortably fits your size, in this case an XL in Ninja wouldn't necessarily mean the same would be a direct fit in SOL or SparX. The right way to measure is to go to their respective websites, they have helmet measurement, and measure your crown to the size on the chart that would be your best fit.

Cheers!

Finally after waiting for more than a month, I got the Nexx XR1R Carbon delivered today. Its by far the lightest helmet I ever had in my hands, very comfortable and extremely quiet. A superb build quality.

Recently on my US visit, I already bought a 80% smoked visor with fast shot change mechanism. Its really easy to change the visor, basically without any screw drivers. Box also had a clear pinlock screen, which I have heard does a great job of keeping the fog away from the visor. May be I will test it soon, as the winters are already here.

Finally after waiting for more than a month, I got the Nexx XR1R Carbon delivered today. Its by far the lightest helmet I ever had in my hands, very comfortable and extremely quiet. A superb build quality.
Awesome lid. I have been in love with this ever since I saw it. Btw do get back on the pin lock functionality, I am just curious as to its effectiveness

Congo once again
