Err.. My bad! I remember this being discussed but that was just initial thoughts on the product, hence the query.
    Thanks!

I was looking at the half face one and the build quality and finish looked good. Anyhow I'll check out other brands too.
    Thanks!

Has size got something to do with it ? Have you been experiencing "turbine noise" after your lid got broken-in ?

OTOH, hearing loss is irreparable, bin that lid instead

Yup, its used as a pot already.

And no, it wasn't oversize. Just that the helmet isn't as good as a few make it sound like.
          Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Hey guys, I have a ls2 phobia. I am allergic to all the dust and pollution while riding hence I want to purchase a balaclava. Any one uses a balaclava here? does it offer considerable filtration of air that we breathe? And is it convenient to use?

Sorry, but whats the point in this? I have already tested it and Vega Axor is nowhere near dampening wind noise that too at 100kmph. If you are happy with it, then all I can say you haven't used the best of the helmets yet.

Abhishek, I use the Spartan Balaclava and it works great for me, against dust as well as smoke. It does a great job filtering out the same too. About convenience I would say it's all about getting used to it.

Also the spartan balaclava has been the most comfortable one I have used as of now (have used the following in the past: free ones given with the helmet, so called A* sold on ebay and an original fox one )

And at a price of rs.300 it's total VFM

The half faced one I'm looking for my friend, who'd want it to fit under her scooter's seat and is, like most of the members of fairer sex, averse to a full faced one.

I wash my balaclava almost whenever time permits. I know it takes abt half a day to dry below the sun/fan hence i just keep tht in mind and then proceed.

Cleaning to me is dipping it in some hot soapy water and then repeatedly rinse it to make sure no trace of soap remains

For someone on a tight budget, it's a good buy [2.4k shipped] esp. in our country where choices are limited - decent graphics [albeit copied], air vents that work, acceptable fit and finish and comes with dual certification DOT / ISI.
I wish they were paying me to say positive things about it but what I post here is just my POV - to each his own.

I'd like to rest my case here !

True, I haven't used better helmets - I'd soon be buying a better lid as I bought Vega Axor because that was the best I could buy at that time.

Would really appreciate your help/guidance in crossing that bridge - when I get there.

First of all if you would have used "search" feature on this thread, you would have know that there is ISI "marked" LS2 available in Delhi and with little bit more you could get old stock of Sparx (without bill). BTW the stickers that you see on Vega and new LS2 can be made for 5rs each and I can stick them on Shoei/ Arai helmets. Then would you believe that they were Indian made?

If I haven't tested yet, I would not have wasted my one precious post replying you. Money may or may not buy you happiness but it will definitely help you buy more protection for "yourself". Again vega is just a normal helmet to save you from getting challaned.

You are a fan of this Axor because you haven't used any other helmet other than this so don't be judgmental that its best that you could have bought that time.
Now that you have bought it, I wont discourage you and ask you to ditch it, but request you to get a better helmet.

P.S : I am not sir, I am still under 30, please don't make me feel like an oldie.

These are designs from SOL Colombia (not Columbia) and very very sweet indeed. Have fun!

                                Cheers!
