Yes, it was a loaded question and you intellegently avoided answering it, however i had specifically mentioned the price range, that is - rupees 3000 to rupees 5000. You chose to skip it.

Secondly, rather lets peg the helmets based on the quality of construction and certification standards that they adhere to, rather than go by brand names. There are many discussions on this forum discussing this, so let's focus on that.

Sunnyside_up! But, what do u hv to say abt the SparX pouch alongwith it containing the manual, earplugs, 2 stickers, visor fog vents, etc.

Manual, Sticker everything luks authentic. Got dese SparX trademarks all over it. Moreover, I'm a perfectionist. I'm always the 1st one to spot a fake. This one's definitely genuine.

Also, krish2778 spoke abt the lower velvety part of the chin padding rubbing off wid use exposing the matt layer underneath. The same thing's happening wid my helmet too. So, either both of our helmets are fake or both are genuine, whichever is true. & got dis helmet cover as well..

I'd say, don't bother. Don't buy motorcycling safety gear from unknown sources. Buy them only from an authorized dealer. If you have an authorized dealer for reputed riding gears in your city, go and get your gears there as you can examine the quality, fit, finish etc. Choose online only if there's no dealer in your city. Even when you choose online, buy only from authorized sources.

Also, regarding LS2, go through this before finalizing your decision.

Actually it was a compromise in the sense what actually I desired and what was available. I wanted SOL Unicorn since I bought my bike 40 days back. But the stock was not available even for once with its dealer. Tried MT helmet from Meandering India, Large was too large for my skinny face..tried Medium NUVO, but still it was not fit.

Then today went to Ryerz accessories Karol Bagh, what fit me was XS size of NUVO which he was selling at 3k. Original one comes at 6k. I got the sense that either I wait infinitely for SOL and that too I am not sure even if small will fit me.

To avoid the state of limbo with my current desi helmet bought this for 4500. It is light. Has DOT stickering, but the main thing is that it fits just about ok. Wind noise starts creeping in at 65Km/h.
Has anyone had experience with THH or have I landed myself a sour deal?

How much is your budget ?

A few online stores for helmets:

India's Premium Motorcycle Riding Gear - Riding Jackets, Boots, Gloves, Pants, Suits, Accessories and Many More.

You can buy Vega and Studds helmets on flipkart also.

Ride safe and have fun.

Mentioning the budget would help. Don't forget to take a look around the sites mentioned above by nadz. Post here before finalizing.

Hey hi

Have been using the scorpion for almost 8 months now for extensive touring and drag races as well but I found it pretty sturdy and as long as noise is concerned trust me I have never come across this problem yet Click image for larger version

Buy earplugs. 3M made ear plugs have MRP of Rs.15/-. I use them while going on a highway ride on my FZ1 with racefit growler.

BTW, people, please see the discussion happening here. Very informative.

Good tip, trustvishwas . I use the DBsafe Silicone ones - they're reusable and washable. For Rs 180 for two pairs, they offer better VFM than the 3M ones. 3M foam earplugs tend to lose shape after 3-4 rides. I use the silicone ones everyday, it helps cut down the traffic noise to a great extent.

Dbsafe Reusable Earplugs Twin Pair PK NRR25 DB Level | eBay
Very comfortable to wear - you will need to cut off a few mm from the outer end to get it to fit in a helmet without it popping out from the ear.

5 Pairs 3M 1270 Model Reusable Corded Earplugs FOR ALL Types OF Noiseprotection | eBay
3M Reusable ones . These are very good too, but they are not as comfortable as the above for a longer trip. YMMV.

3M Chorded Foam Earplugs 10 Pairs With Carry Case | eBay
The foam ones - very very comfortable, but they will lose their sponginess after 3 - 4 uses. The cheap price makes up for it though.

One can also use the in-ear headphones. These too provide very good noise cancellation. I generally use them rather than the ear plugs, as I find them more comfortable.
