      NEWS!

A new retail chain of motorcycle helmets, gear, apparel and accessories stores is opening across India called MOTO 101. This is a multi-brand chain which will sell several different brands all under the same roof, with uniform pricing throughout the country. Bikers will get proper printed invoices and warranties that are applicable from the manufacturers at all the stores of this chain. The first store opened in Chennai in end-Feb, and the second just opened in Pune. Bangalore and Mumbai are planned next.

SPG has tied up with this company for all-India retail, which means that the entire SPG range of helmets and apparel is available at these stores. Since it is a multi-brand retail concept, they already have products from other brands too. Expect to see lots of new stuff coming out soon!

Have posted the same in the gears thread.

Shifter, speaking with 1100kms experience of delhi-neelkanth and Delhi to Agra on 200ns with speeds above 120 all.time.,do note that above 80, wind noise is a problem.in.long touring.,but earphones will help cutting down noises to 90% ,also shifter is new and has dual visor, a very good thing.

The day I don't ride, I just breathe..

Among the two helmets mentioned by you, buy Shifter. Its a newer helmet and has dual visors.
I would suggest you to increase the budget slightly and take a look at vega axor.

I can stretch my budget easily but somehow visors on previous helmets do not last very long and i had to keep buying them again and again. I own a steelbird GP one and its visors are hard to get even there is steelbird factory in my area .
So i m bit worried of buying helmet and using it without a visor most of the time .This is the only reason i m looking for studds

studds shifter is far better then Vegas axor which is a cheap copy of ls2.

Outside visor costs 200₹. If you can stretch budget to 3800₹, buy MT helmet, if you can't, then.buy shifter.

My suggestion to you and a habit that I personally follow is to keep the protective film that comes with the visor always in the cloth's pocket. While not riding, I'll stick the protective film to the helmet visor as soon as I remove the helmet. By this way, the visor will be less vulnerable to scratches. I've been using a helmet for 6 months now and still the visor feels brand new and haven't got a slightest scratch to it. And Studds shifter is far better than Vega AXOR.

I was looking at bluetooth kits for Helmets. The good brands like sena are really expensive at 6k, and the chinese ones on ebay start at 3k.

I was wondering if anyone has used the normal samsung bluetooth headset which comes for 500 rs inside a helmet. I only need this for navigation so, a mic is not necessary. Has anyone tried this?
