@Diffuser: U can feel the same in a high end VEGA helmet worth 2500.. the padding is as good as any 5k helmet.. and neither the outer shell looks as flimsy as the Daijya.

P.S.: meant no offense.. i like the Daijyas too but only the graphics..

Look at the gap! and i seriously dont know why is the black plastic strip(circled in red) is for. Its soo delicate that its joint broke when ravikiran was trying make out why it was there

Only these things pisses me off in daijya. But i like the helmet. would recommend it for anyone((but def not on top of the list)

This is our head we are talking about man...I am more concerned about it's safety rather than anything else...hence the query...

Once u spend around 3.5-4 k of u r hard earned money into a product it should be worth it is what I feel...

@Satish: Ditto about the black strip...but nothing a FeviQuick can't fix. Still feels like a treachery at the price being paid for the lid. Finish is definitely not the best out there, but way too better than the Vegas (Boolean, etc.). Even my lid had a few symmetry defects and padding coming out at a point, but still I avoid looking at them lest they make me feel bad abt my decision. BTW, the shop guy is ready to provide a spare black strip if you can pickup.

@MotorBreath: Mate, I actually tried the lid you are talking about (I guess synergizer has the same). The padding was not bad, but this Daijya seems to be a different story altogether. I am sure my next lid won't be a Daijya, though, if you are looking for a Value For Money solution. A $100 KBC brought from the US (no shipping, hehe) will be a sweet deal.

IMO daijyas are toooo damn heavy, but expensive, the one in the pic 5.5k!!

KBCs, I am sure are even more expensive than the Daijyas! But, then again a KBC is a KBC.

I would disagree here. As the 46wannabe had posted, the crack is on the plastic vent part and not on the shell. Therefore, the protection of the helmet would not be compromised, in my opinion.

A single fall of low height would not damage the helmet nor would it reduce the shock absorption capability of the foam. Sustained shocks like that will damage it. It is very similar to small skids for which each time u wouldn't change the tyre, but u will eventually change the tyre after many such small skids.

I agree. If such small falls reduces the shock absorbing capacity, then I would be worrying like hell right now. Xeno, Prajwal and some Bangalore xBhpians have seen how frequently my helmet falls off my bike . But I am not at all worried.

Also let me clear out things about Daijya helmets. Most Daijyas I have seen come with a fibre glass shell and a plastic outer shell, the one with all the air vents and everything. This plastic outer shell is prone to cracks, as it is very flimsy. But the actual shell which is supposed to take the majority of the outer impact, feels extremely sturdy. There are people who have crashed with Daijyas and vouch for their safety.

I too fixed the black strip with feviauick But def i will not pick up a daijya again!

I would have felt bad had i paid 5.5k for it.....but i got it for 3.5k

Sneh i am not very sure how much you shell out for this, but one of the model of KBC namely Road Warrior is available for as low as 5650 with KRP.

Even this was discussed in some earlier posts.
