There are many brands sold in India and we don't even know if they are fake just as Daijya (as written in the email)
the brands sold here are- index , cross a.k.a fasttrack , stm (the ones on the site are not the ones sold here ) , bhp (what DSG used to sell earlier) . All these bear a mark of DOT approval and not ISI as per indian rules.Even the DOT approval sticker could be a fake
I guess all the manufacturers are in the same boat.sigpicThe Moto Cafe - India's first bike theme cafe @ Chandni Chowk

Hi Chetan
Marushin helmets are sold in India as "Daijya" by our closed sales dealer name, Dream Bikes in western city of India by the name Pune.Protection is ECE 22.05 by European Standards. Dream Bikes should have the safety certificate. These helmets are made in Europe not in Japan. Trust this clarifies.

Hello Sir,
I am from India.... and want to buy a good helmet..... and I see Daijya as a brand of good repute here. I have heard that its a subsidiary ofMarushin Helmets, Japan.
Please let me know if the helmets are made in Japan and what are the safety levels that they match up to.

All this should b clarified soon, meanwhile the Daijya helmets dont come across as cheap to me. The quality seems good enough, specially after using then in Australia. The visors were also pretty shatter resistant, I have abused the helmets a lot. I am no authority in helmets and am not saying they are the best or vouching for them just because they advertise on the website. Lets see where this leads to.
Meanwhile the two emails made me raise an eyebrow.

Hi Sankar,
this helmets is a illegal copy and a very cheap fake and has nothing to do with the original Marushin-Helmets. Not in safety and not in quality.
Sorry to tell you this.
