I guess MT is the brand which has modular helmet within the decent protection level i guess, saw those with the xbhp team during the thank you ride.
Any info on that , would the MT modular would be any good ? might help gauravtayal to decide.

And yes, though its always nice to get real crash reports, let's just hope you never reach that point where you have to crash in them..!!

Hey Krishna ,
M also concerned for mt modular helmet , because I saw the same in Assam xbhp thankyou ride pics of sundeep sir, old monk sir and one more rider with classic 350.
As I too own a classic 350cc , I feel it classy and appropriate in terms of safety and looks .
It's just that , by any chance , If person got crashed, then would modular will b more safe than the full face helmet .
As after your above mentioned facts , I am more interested in full face now (MT axiss atom).
Waiting for more answers to finally decide .

Well not the worst but it could be much better. I have had one for almost 3 years now and done 14K Km no complains, the visor is fantastic for the price range. The only issue i had was once i took the liner out for washing, no matter what i did it would not not fit back in snug and one of the two fastners on the sides of the helmet the liner would be longer! not lining up with the press buttons. I just stuffed it back in and let it be has stopped bothering me now!

Upgraded to a new lid and use the SOL as a daily / backup

I got the Shark Speed R Sauer

Do not, I repeat, do not go to Helmet Paradise unless it's last resort.
The guy there is nothing short of a blabber mouth and he would sell you apples and oranges saying it will save your life.
I was so impressed by the reviews i got about getting good helmets from there and went there to get a helmet for a friend, in less than 5 minutes i wished i hadn't.

The guy tried to sell me a damaged SOL and thought I wouldn't notice. KYT according to him was the best brand currently available and MT turned out to be the worst, such a surprise that he did not have stock of it. Oh and trust me, he was swearing by his life that SOL was top notch or within the 5-6k range.

It makes me sad that i had suggested the same place to a few friends here , thinking it was a good shop.

Sort off same experience. I had heard so much about that place & I even bought my LS2 helmet from there. Price was way too much & more over he would butter up the brands which he has stock. Later that helmet got stolen & I got a new one from a shop nearby to that.

Hey people, I am looking to upgrade from an LS2( still wondering if it is the original) to a better helmet.

My budget is max 6000 bucks. I primarily ride in the city with occasional highway runs and tour around once in 4 months.

I was thinking about the SOL sl68sII unicorn or one from the MT range. I am not interested in modular helmets and prefer the safety of a full face one. Probiker in pune camp area is offering the sl68sII for 5850/-. Is it a good buy? Should I buy it from him or any other shop?

Pune people please respond! Thanks

Hi Deathmate.Zed, Probiker is the official seller of Spartan products (including SOL & MT) the other one is MOTO 101 in Bund garden. You can compare & make your choice.

Thanks for the response! But the problem is I am not knowledgeable enough to compare myself between these helmet varieties, hence the query . I would love it if someone with personal experience can guide me regarding the best buy within 6k.

PS : I am open to other brands too

Hi Deathmate.Zed, if you like MT helmets then I think you should have a look at MT Revenge helmet. It is the best helmet within 6k budget. It not only has the regular DOT and Ece ratings, but also Sharp 5 star rating! It is the most affordable helmet with sharp 5 star rating. When I purchased a helmet for me last month, I wanted to buy Revenge but didn't have that much budget and wanted to check the brand before investing my money so bought MT Axxis(3.5k). But my next purchase will surely be Revenge.

P.S.: My first post on xbhp

Deathmate.Zed, SOL should be at top of your list if you can manage its weight in city ride. KYT is also an option with good ventilation (most important in city riding) but with all the safety badges MT stands tall.

One question, are SOL metalman and unicorn only different with respect to graphics or are there other differences too? I saw reviews for both these helmets separately here.

I think apart from graphics the unicorn has got the LED light at the back.
