Rightly said by @Thamps, stay away from ls2 be online or in stores all are fakes. What you choose is decent but if you can stretch more you can get spg kranos for 3350/- and MT for some 4150/-

Can you post some links of online stores selling the SPG Kranos & MT. I am willing to spend upto 5k (maybe a few 100's more) on a good helmet.

Finally picked up an Axor P-2 . Comes with the normal clear visor and the internal tinted visor and vents for the chin, forehead and 2 for the head. This model is not listed in the Vega website but the cost was Rs.5000/-. Got it on a 50% off offer.

Also liked these 2 models (actually preferred them) but they were too large for me.

This was from the official Vega Company outlet. I wouldn't trust any private shop.

AFAIK there is no Axor model for 1800. The cheapest full face with graphics is 2650. And that model has a single visor and no vents. The material of the shell looks different too. Anyway if you have any link showing this model at 1800 please pass in on. I can always go back and return it.

@P3T3R : Vega Axor for 5000, sorry to burst the small bubble of happiness, but you have been duped.

@Pizzaboi : Can you explain why you quoted the entire post with images just for one sentence.
@mods : Can some one look into this matter, its becoming quite frequent now by users to quote the entire the message just for one liners.

Firstly I did not pay 5000, I paid 2500. The purchase was made in a company outlet (Vega Helmet Store, Calangute) so the chances that it's a fake are slim. There were only 6 pieces, 3 photos I have posted and the other 3 were Matte Black. These helmets had ECE certification. The other Axor helmets had DOT & ISI certification. There was no Vega written anywhere on the helmet. There was a poster in the shop stating that the 6 helmets were on 50% off.

What makes everyone so sure I have been duped? I need to know the reason because if true I have to give that reason to the shop when I return the helmet. I don't think it is possible to get a good helmet for less than 2500. Just saying that I have been duped does not help me in any way. Kindly explain how you (and others) arrived at this conclusion so I can explain to the shop and return the helmet and then exercise caution while picking up another helmet.

Ok then let me start :

                      1) Axor is not on site (as per your post). Check this then
                      2) If you think that DOT/ECE and these stickers make a helmet genuine one, then sorry bud, but you have no idea how many fakes are there in the market.
                      3) Let me google for you : As you can see, Axor in itself sells for 2200INR online, and if we go to a physical shop, one can easily get it in lesser price.
                      4) Did he give a VAT bill when you bought it, although I doubt it, but if he did, reconfirm with the email id / telephone number given on the website that whether is authorised dealer or not.

Mate, I guess this is not the Vega branded Axor, I had heard from a friend about a few days back about a helmet called AXOR, he said the padding were really nice and so was the build quality, I am guessing this is that brand and not VEGA.
Now the 50% off thing might be the shopkeeper taking you for a ride, but considering the price range you mentioned it seems good enough.
Will check with a friend of mine who owns a helmet shop and will let you know.

@krishna vega axor as you and others said is quite flimsy, but the one shown in the pictures definitely has the same brand logo, yet looks more upmarket than the flimsy axor we see in stores. I was aware of the part where VegaAuto had an imported helmets category in their site but the one shown in their catalogue are funnily those flimsy ones (italian? seriously?), and the one shared by our friend here is not among the list. I strongly believe that the lid our friend just bought could be the one of the original pieces they had imported in the first place (italy ? i'm not sure about that) maybe clearing off the old stock or something; since vega used to do such stunts earlier too(import a big brand, then either rebrand or replicate an Indianised cost effective version). Googling LS2 Sport and Vega Dragon will give you a vague idea.

And the helmet i told you about the other day is AXR not the Axor ( i too was confused seeing the lid and the name for the first time.)

I did not say Axor is not on the site. I came to know about the Axor brand from the Vega site itself.
                            What I said was:

You can check it out and let me know if it is there.

Again I did not say that it is genuine because of the DOT/ECE stickers. What I said was:

These helmets had ECE certification. The other Axor helmets had DOT & ISI certification.
I said I did not think it was a fake because:

The purchase was made in a company outlet (Vega Helmet Store, Calangute) so the chances that it's a fake are slim.

You link just takes me to a blank Google search page. Check the Vega website. All the models of Axor are either priced at Rs.2420/- or Rs.2690/-. So you mean to say some random online store is likely to sell a genuine piece and the "Company Owned" Vega exclusive outlet is likely to sell a fake?

                            4) Did he give a VAT bill when you bought it, although I doubt it, but if he did, reconfirm with the email id / telephone number given on the website that whether is authorised dealer or not.
If had been reading my posts properly you would have known that I didn't purchase it from some random store that I need to verify if he is an authorised dealer or not. Let me say it again. I purchased it from the Vega Helmet Store, Calangute, Goa. This is a company owned outlet and not a dealer.

None of the Axors are Vega branded. Axor is an Italian brand being sold by Vega under the "Imported Range". The other 2 brands in this range are "Airoh" also from Italy and "Nexx" from Portugal. If you see the 1st set of images I had posted before making a purchase there is an image of an orange and white model (with a big star). This model is sold in various colour combinations and in some colours they have "Vega" branding instead of "Axor"

Now the 50% off thing might be the shopkeeper taking you for a ride,
                            Possible but not likely because:
                            - This is a company owned outlet.
                            - There was a poster from the company advertising the sale.

but considering the price range you mentioned it seems good enough.
Exactly my point. Finally someone with some common sense and who shares my views. For the price it's not just good enough, it's a fantastic deal.

Finally, I am not saying with certainty that I have not been duped or that the helmet I got was genuine. I have just posted my side of the argument as to why I do not feel that I have been duped on price or genuinity of the helmet. I was just asking for a justification from those who so confidently that I had been duped, so I could present the same justification to the outlet if have to return the helmet and "Un-dupe" myself.

I had gotten the chance to test out the Vega Axor when it was launched, the flimsy one, it did say DOT certified and all , but it was just too small and rough padding to even feel safe, considering the price point I wasn't expecting much more than that anyway. But those were the models which had the Vega branding on it, on the front above the visor and on the rear side. It had the branding. In fact there was a very big campaigning effort from Vega on this particular model

The Black Grey combination has the vega branding on it.

Company outlet eh, sound good, as Vishnu suggested , might be the ones they imported first, and are clearing stocks. And like I said, you might have got a very good deal.

All the Axors in the store (that are listed on the website) and the Vega branded copies of the Star model had ISI as well as DOT certification. The 6 models that were on sale including the one I bought had "only" ECE certification. No DOT and/or ISI mark anywhere.
