  • Re: Helmets

Hi, Narrowed down to these helmets within the 6K price bracket:

    SOL SL-68SII
    MT BLADE
    MT REVENGE
    LS2

Read a lot of pages in this thread, not able to collate anything solid, Please help me decide on one, or else point me towards other good models.

    Thanks a lot in advance.

Avoid LS2s, MT would be the best choice

Among sol and mt whuch model is lighter? Even a few grams would be useful coz i suffer from neck problems. My budget is 5000. Slightly increasable.
I like the blade. Which sol helmet comes in that range? I was planning to get the airoh but the cost of replacement visors is too much.

I am using MT Axxis Geo 3 - Small, it weighs 1475 gms. ( specification says 1400-1500gms).

from my experience i feel that neck problems are caused by wearing helmet that doesnt fit right!

What i am trying to say is a less weight helmet also causes neck problems or pain when it doesnt fit/sit on your head perfectly, wobbling helmets are pain to use.

try to get a right fit helmet. try before you buy, i bought online because i had no other choice, only SMALL fits me. and i am totally satisfied with the fit and finish of the MT Helmets, they are attractive, safe and comfortable. Prefer Double D ring lock mechanism.

I will try to provide a complete review soon, once i use it for atleast 300kms. cheers!

i cannot comment on SOL, i haven't used one, but they look awesome and are of good quality too i guess! just look at the SOL Metal man, its just beautiful!!

Live like you mean it, then get a bike!

Sunny, You must be aware of the recent law passed in TN for making helmet mandatory. Is it a must that only ISI helmets needs to be used. one of my friend , who is using a MT Axxis Geo 4, which he got from spartan, was caught by cops for the helmet design and fined him 100 rs for not wearing a ISI branded helmet.

We know the importance of the DOT, ECE ceertification...but, will our cops buy the story ? I am not sure if we can find such ISI helmet with this design or graphic. Does Vega provide such helmets with similar graphics to LS2 or MT.

I wanted to buy a MT helmet, but after hearing this, I am thinking of holding on to the RE helmet which I bought from the store itself.

I recently bought MT Axxis Geo3 and i had done lot of research and contacted like most of the sellers!

                  just sharing some info,

                  MT Helmets:

I bought from moto101 mumbai, contacted the seller and made payment. got to know that MT Revenge Models are out of stock! no idea when they will be imported again! ( these are words directly from the seller). check SpartanProGear website, they list all the models and sizes but availability i am not sure! in fact moto101 shipped helmet also had the spartanprogear price tag on it, so all these sellers procure their stock from the SPG.

on SOL Helmets, i did similar inquiry.

i tried contacting SOL india via Facebook, i got a call on my mobile. I was looking for SOL Metal Man - Small Size, but they are not in stock!!

only SOL unicorn models were in stock! i had no interest for the unicorn, so didn't inquire much!

seller mentioned that they will be coming by end of the month ( so you can check may be in the first week on July).

                  Hope it helps!

Due to ISI stuff in chennai , I am going to buy known good Indian brand.
Vega Axor does come with dual visor?
Studds shifter does come with one tinted visor inside and plan visor outside.

I do like Axor design better, but i feel there might be wind noise due to the top vent. Kindly suggest between the two.
