Hair loss due to wearing helmets is a myth. Helmets don't cause any hair loss. Hair loss is genetic, if you have male pattern baldness running in the family chances are that you will have it too. Using or not using helmets will not affect it. Always wear a helmet. Even if it caused Hair loss, your life is more important than your hair.

Thanks for the reply. But most people say helmets cause hair loss if you don't use some cloth as blocker between your helmet and scalp due to sweating. Not sure how true is that.

Rest assured. It is a myth. There is no evidence to prove that.

it indeed 100000% myth as quoted before. however you can add a balaclava. which will also save some amount of pollution and also keeps the lid clean.
remember to wash it every few days.

Hair loss will happen for it's own reasons, a helmet is not to be blamed. But care should be taken to keep the helmet clean and wear a dry and clean balaclava or at least a helmet cap.

This will go a long way in keeping the scalp clean, which will not aggravate hair loss.

Sweat is saline and that effects hair. Its better to use balaclava. I have learnt it the hard way.

But what about my spiked hair? I spent huge sums of money on hair gels, hair straightening, highlights, bleaching etc already!

I have read few pages on this thread. Now, I would like to have suggestions from current owners of whatever helmet they are using.

Only 3 questions :

1. I want a helmet with mininal wind noise @ speeds of 90-110kmph.

2. It should be safe to protect my skull. Budget is between 5-7K to be very honest. I can stretch if the helmet is value for money.

3. It should be able to accomodate a action camera along with scala bluetooth as I plan to purchase these all in the coming months.

Only full face and no non-nense helmet.

I am going to make this purchase in coming month or in October for sure.

I have read the reviews and short listed on the following:

1. MT track spirit
2. SOL (Unicorn 2, 3, 68s, metalman)
3. LS2 wolf air go

Which one I should go for. All brands are nice and produce quality helmets. Will MT be more VFM than SOL.

On a personal note, I like the look and design of SOL and MT are bit on conservative side.

Try them all. Choices differ from person to person. I'd say MT>SOL (just because of availability issue w.r.t visor, clamps etc)>LS2 (you never know which one is fake).

But I need something which has lesser wind noise. ls2 out. Only SOL and MT remains.

Reviews regarding both these brands regarding wind noise from fellow users will be useful.

Fellow MT owners can please share information on wind noise.

Not asking about quality as both are quality and well built.

I'd say try them out and get whichever fits best, LS2 Wolf and MT track spirit having air go system are likely to fit better.

SOL Metal Man2 - Awesome helmet! Have survived a big crash with it that lead to multiple fractures and my head was safe with no external impact. I got the helmet extensively checked at the dealer to see if there is any crack in the foam or the shell, but nothing was found. There was just 1 scratch on the outside.

It IS heavy. But doesn't cause neck/ear pain.
Wind noise appears north of 90 kmph and starts deafening you north of 115-120 kmph.

I am confused between MT axxis Geo4(matte black) and MT axxis atom (red) 😥😥

My head size is 57-58(m)

Atom have a curvy shape in neck portion !!😍😍 but geo 4 (matte black) is awesome ❤️

But I am confused whether geo4 is bulky in shape !! (Have not seen them)

I am thin ! So, I prefer not so bulky helmet .. !!

Again evo series (black) is also awesome !! But can't find it anywhere 😭😭😭
