Re: Helmets
Need to decide between a Studds Shifter and a SteelBird Air SBA-1
The link for the latter is Helmets - Steelbird Air
The former, I believe, needs no introduction.

The shifter is a safe bet, I know that. A bit too heavy, and I tend to prefer helmets without these stupid pop out sunglasses. But still, safe choice.
Its the Steelbird that I'm curious about. Does anyone have any experience on it?

Re: Helmets
HR bhai, the pop out sun glasses are not at all a issue. I also wear spectacles and have not found any issues with the popout sun visor. I own a MT blade.Originally posted by HyperRetard View PostGuys with spectacles. We have it hard.
Studds shifter will be a wise choice.
Cheers,

Re: Helmets
No, i am facing the same problem. I contacted dealers in mumbai and no one keeps spares except visors. I talked to spartan pro gear and they said they might get stock in a month time. But according to dealers people don't demand spares so they don't keep them. Paddings of my MT are torn and loose now. They started giving way in six months time but now condition is really bad and I m suffering from wind noise which is causing headaches. :banghead:Originally posted by Shaktiv3 View PostThe helmet is only 6 months old

Having crashed in a Studds and Shifter and now with my second one, the Sun Visor/Face Shield is one of the features that I love about the helmet. In fact the Internal Sun Visor/Face Shield was one of the reason I went for the Shifter as the replacement of the one I had crashed.
The Sun Visor on the Shifter is not a Pop-Out type but is an Internal type.
1. It's a boon to ride with the Internal Sun visor down in the Sun and in the dark retract it back.
2. Unlike other helmets the internal Sun Visor/Face Shield is not operated by some lever mechanism.. it's a simple open and shut action.. and will not come loose with time.
3. The optical quality of the Visors are distortion free
I find the weight of the Studds Shifter to be ok.. not too heavy and not too light. Only negative about the Studds Shifter is that it becomes noisy at speeds above 60 kmph

Re: Helmets
Another important negative is that mostly we get only standard large size in studds. Loose helmet is a primary cause for wind noise.Originally posted by payeng View PostHaving crashed in a Studds and Shifter and now with my second one, the Sun Visor/Face Shield is one of the features that I love about the helmet.
